On a whim I decided to make my own dice tray.

I happened across this little box, though it's a bit shallow, it actually works pretty well for two players to have space to roll their dice without getting in each others' way.

I'm happy with how it turned out.

A nice cigar box is a good idea here. Stop in at your local smoke shop. They usually sell them for about a dollar, at least around me... Some are quite nice! Paint it, decorate it, whatever...

I went with white on this because I was originally intending to paint a big dodge symbol on the top, but then decided using the Twin Shadows box was a better idea.

And both halves of the box are flat on the table?

Yeah. After I took this picture I actually added two little clear rubber nubs to the lid so it sits flat.

I was literally just looking into Dice Trays last night. Very cool idea. Think I could find a box like this at any old craft store?

I found this one at JoAnne's Fabrics. THey had a crappy selection of wood boxes too. So I'm sure it won't be too hard to find something like this.
