Okay, so at my local game store I have a friend who I very often play against. I tend towards the competitive side of the game and recently I've been trying out potential tournament lists. The only problem is that my friend doesn't play too competitively and I feel that he's getting a bit fed up with losing practically every game. I primarily play scum and own almost all of them as well as a healthy selection of rebels (slightly lacking on the imperial side).

I need help to build a fun squad that isn't going to totally ruin our friendship and isn't going to totally dominate against my friend's lists (looking at you dengaroo, you ******). He's primarily an imperial player fyi.

A HWK/Cassian build could be fun without being super competitive. You can play off Cassisn and Jan's abilities while Jyn sends focus tokens to the HWK to store onto.

pends on how your friend plays, but for scum try out wacky combos like mindlink palob for steal focus and share with rest of team with like a TLT kavil (attani) and a manaroo with title, some silly fun that might work well

Gotcha. Just run a few Headhunters and a beefy Y-Wing or Xizor in the StarViper.

5 Kihraxz fighters. Make sure your opponent has ships that are all at least PS 3 and have repositioning. This makes for a tough enough game for you, and a fun one for him as he can arc-dodge you.

Definitely fun, though I wonder if Fenn and Manaroo are getting a bit competitive there. Oh well, I have the same problem when playing against my wife.

Talonbane Cobra - 35 pts

(Predator, Glitterstim, Vectored Thrusters)

Black Sun Ace - 26 pts

(Crack Shot, Glitterstim)

Black Sun Soldier - 13 pts

Black Sun Soldier - 13 pts

Black Sun Soldier - 13 pts

If you win again, you can tell your friend that you weren't trying to be competitive, but rather trying to recreate the Black Sun during the Battle of Tansarii Point Station-especially since they lost that battle!

While I don't have 5 Kihraxz fighters I did used to play a ot of BBBBZ and won all of my games... I guess I'm just too good at positioning.

Ok so I played yesterday, game one was with this list:

Manaroo, attani mindlink, k4 sec droid, unhinged mech

Fenn, mindlink, advanced proton torps, Autothrusters, title

Palob, mindlink, Intel agent, blaster turret, Cloaking device, spa

Second game I tried out the shadowcaster (bought a few weeks back, never tried until today)

Asajj, Fearlessness, gyroscopic targeting, dengar, shadowcaster, Glitterstim x2

2x Concord Dawn Vets, Autothrusters, title.

Last game was using this:

4x syndicate thugs, bomb load out, extra munitions, Seismic Charge.

The evening mostly went fine, asides from my friend not realising it's the tractor beam token and not the tractor beam (cannon) that does the pulling around. This little fact really seemed to piss him off since I managed to get his attack shuttle barrel rolled behind the debris he was on and make him out of arc to shoot back and make his next turn 's manoeuvres awkward. Otherwise it was fun (I did win all three though)
