On next weekend there will be our Warsaw Regionals. I have to choose between two different lists. One list is strictly focused on mission objectives. My opponent have always BIG hedache when they choose objectives. Why this list is so tempting?
list 1: Imperial special section
On last tournament best player gather 25pts. Highest score on tournament (his own) was 9:2. rest was usually 7:4 and rarelly 8:3. No one have more than 8 squadrons in list (usually with one Intel), lots of lists have no more than 4 squadrons. Only Rebel players where focused on Bombing. Imperials usually have them as CAP with one or two strong hitters (all imperials field ISD except me). This give me to thing hard about my list focusing on objectives. My opponents will play my scenarios because of my ugly low bid on first proposex list (374). Closest one is on Our local Ben list (he cheat alot), he have 2pts more so I'm preatty sure about objectives. I take Sensor Net, Firing Lines and Blockade Run.
On Sensor Net as second player I move my opponent tokens 1-4 that allow me to move them behind so he will be able to gather max 3 victory tokens. I have two lambdas so I start scoring from turn 1. On round 1 I take 2 victory tokens. From turn 2 i gather at least 4 per turn. I avoid fight and move along my table edge tossing token with lambdas. My opponent will shoot at my on round 4 so till this time I should gather 10 tokens to his 2-3. From that moment I try to avoid his hitter and still gather tokens. should gather till end of game at least 14 tokens in my favour. If I play well I should win at least 200+ points in my favour. No one want to take this objective.
On Firing lines we have simmilar situation. I move tokens with lambdas near to my deployment. From turn 1 I score. Till round 4 i have 9 victory tokens guaranted. From that moment I avoid Enemy and tow tokens out of juicy arcs of opponent hitters. Should end game with at least 14 tokens. This scenario is harder than Sensor Net because my opponent try to close fast at me with evrything he have.
Last scenario is Blockade Run. Here I have my Admiral Ozel that allow me to dance when and where I want. If my opponent wait for me in his deployment zone I just wait till last round and jump with my ships to his deployment out of his on shot kill arcs. If he run at me I wait with low speed (1 or 2) and gather tokens to stroke my engines when he move in short medium/long range (i manipulate with my spped to do this). Then I just skip his fleet ending move out of dangerous arc. Meantime my fighter screen try to kill his CAP or if there is a bomber focused list I wait to block them during my jump over moment. Usually I lost one ship (it is difficult to squeez 6 ships out of danger on such small area) or one ship dont reach enemy deployment (almost all the time is Wulf Yularen pocket supercarier).
Her is the list:
Raider I (OE, Impetous, Kallus, Flechette Missiles) 58p
Raider I 44p
Raider I 44p
Raider I (Ozel) 64p
Gonzanti (EH, Wulf Yularen) 35p
Gonzanti
2*Defender 36p
2* Lambda 30p
4*Interceptor 44p
List 2: Vader Kitties
I played it once so far. Have huge problem with objectives. On that game I field 5 Kitties I with dual turbolasers, Vader on gonzanti, Valen and Morna. This was tests for Wave 5 stuff. My opponent field ISD, kitty and two gonzanti with small fighter screen. I move all fleet with speed and turn them right forming one line with broadsides pointing on my friend ISD. He was vaporised in one round. All my kitties have almost all time concentrated fire order. I was so impressed that such small bastards are able to kill ISD on such long range so easy. Usually to kill ISD I need 4 Raider kniffighters on short range with screed and mix of APT and CM buut it cost me half of them. Here I do this so easy. I think that dont need DT on them. If I throw it away I'm able to field good fighter screen but have no idea what to choose. For sure in list will have 5 kitties Vader and Gonzanti. I have 3 Imperial Fighter pack I and one Imperial Fighter pack II. I have no experience in playing list releying on red dices. Any idea ho expand this list, what kind of objectives to take.
And what do you think. Which list is better?
