First event list(s) - options and feedback

By ScummyRebel, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'm going to my first store event upon the release of the rest of wave X. I have been toying with lists and giving some of them a run at casual games with relatives who also play. Some of this is inspired by known meta, but all of it had been tweaked some.

The trouble is... I have no idea which to use.

Choice 1: Dengaroo

JumpMaster 5000: · Dengar (33)
· Lone Wolf (2)
Plasma Torpedoes (3)
Extra Munitions (2)
Counter-Measures (3)
· Zuckuss (1)
· Punishing One (12)
Glitterstim (2)
Overclocked R4 (1)
JumpMaster 5000: · Manaroo (27)
Push The Limit (3)
Seismic Torpedo (2)
Engine Upgrade (4)
· "Gonk" (2)
Burnout SLAM (1)
Unhinged Astromech (1)
-- TOTAL ------- 99/100p. --

Always liked the bounty hunters of Star Wars, Dengar being no exception. I know Dengaroo is everywhere in the meta now, so I feel like this has potential. It's done well 2/3 times I've tried it. My concern is going up against a more experienced foe when I effectively have a one ship list with Manaroo running around the board staying away from trouble. Feel better having more combatants in the game. But, it is a powerful list and I could be overly worried.

Choice 2: Scum Bus w/ lancer

Lancer-class Pursuit Craft: · Ketsu Onyo (38)
Push The Limit (3)
Gyroscopic targeting (2)
K4 Security Droid (3)
· Shadow Caster (3)
Glitterstim (2)
Rigged Cargo Chute (1)
YV-666: · Bossk (35)
Fearlessness (1)
"Mangler" Cannon (4)
Ion Projector (2)
· 4-LOM (1)
· Zuckuss (1)
· Dengar (3)
Inertial Dampeners (1)
-- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. --

Action economy for Ketsu and typical Bossk bus. Ketsu tries to go for the tractoring before Bossk shoots to make it more damaging on the opponent's. Biggest weakness is someone getting behind Bossk - I'd swap out ion for apl but I don't own a shuttle. However Ketsu has those great 3s for getting around to save Bossk's tail if I was desperate. The cargo chute is mostly there as a troll because I have no idea what I really want there - I don't give stress so I don't know if slicer tools is worth it.

Choice 3: Miranda Bomber

K-Wing: · Miranda Doni (29)
Extra Munitions (2)
Homing Missiles (5)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Conner Net (4)
Thermal Detonators (3)
Advanced SLAM (2)
· Sabine Wren (2)
VCX-100: · "Chopper" (37)
Proton Torpedoes (4)
Autoblaster Turret (2)
Fire Control System (2)
Guidance Chips (0)
· Hera Syndulla (1)
· "Zeb" Orrelios (1)
-- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. --

I thought it'd be fun to drop the VCX onto the board with Miranda to give players two priority targets to take out of the way. The famous Miranda + Corran is a bit more out of my practice and I'd rather bring someone tanky with Miranda. I like chopper over lothal rebel for his ability and zeb rewards that bumping farther. It also helps I'm a fan of Rebels so there's the sentiment to the list. But I've done a bombing list exactly once, could backfire. But could be fun.

I really like both scum and rebel options in general, and I have had fun flying all of these ships casually before in other lists (Miranda excepted - only tried once). I can't tell you too much about my specific meta since the people I usually play won't be there.

Which list would you pick, and if you made tweaks what would you change?

I would pick list 1. I have used a Dengaroo list for a while now. This is how I roll:

Dengar - 60 pts

Punishing One, Lone Wolf, Plasma Torpedoes, Extra Munitions, Zuckuss, R4 Agromech, Glitterstim, Countermeasures

Manaroo - 40 pts

Push the Limit, Recon Specialist, Unhinged Astromech, Glitterstim, Engine Upgrade

If you're expecting other PS9 aces in your opponent's list, you just take Glitterstim off Manaroo and either give her nothing or Burnout Slam to get out of trouble.

Manaroo runs away from enemies on the edges of the board with impunity giving double focus and possibly TL to Dengar, who kills everything off while Zuckuss forces rerolls all over the place and he rerolls his own dice with Lone Wolf. Glitterstim and Countermeasures help in desperate turns. Dengar will accumulate stress like crazy (20+ isn't hard to achieve by the end of the game) but that's no problem with his white sloop and constant supply of tokens from his wife. Very competitive and hard to handle.
