I was also trying to add The Surge ability of the Reanimate to the Large Cat. I apologize for my lack of photoshopping skills.

give me your emailadress, I can send you a better photoshop template for familiars.
The bear is gonna get overpowered really fast. Hero weapons escalate in power pretty quickly.
That's why the Bear moves 3 spaces & only has access to Melee Weapons, not Hero/Class Abilities. ![]()

How do you PM?
there is no pm feature on this site anymore, you can pm me on boardgamegeek if you want.
Can't you just click on the envelop symbol at the top of the page and compose a new PM? I can.

Looking at the stuff you made on BGG I love the Snow Leopard. I forgot that I had wanted to add that the Bear can't recover any health, but there's not enough text space on the card.
If you get a message that a user cannot PM (Private Messaging), that user needs to work with FFG to get PM setup. PMing still does work on the new forums.

Not quite imo. If we look at other melee- familiars with 3 speed (the Reanimate) the Bear has the potential to be significantly more powerful. Imagine the heroes getting the Dawnblade. Even some act 1 weapons like the Trident will be very strong. Also don't forget that if you play it right, the Bear would get access to the green die through the Beastmasters skills.

I'll have to work on it
But for now I changed it a little bit.

I like the idea of choosing your animal familiar. What about one like sky?

That's a great idea. I'll look on ReaperMinis.

Just looked on Reaper. There's a Bat, Owl, Small Dragon, & Imp that could be interesting. I was also thinking of changing the Bear to 1 Blue & 2 Red while using the Surge Abilities of an equipped Melee Weapon.
The bear seems very powerful for use in Act I.
But how about a bear cub in Act I, that then changes to a bear in Act II?
Just started first RtL campaign with the Beastmaster class (SoC) so haven't experienced it yet in Act II other than in a Delve we played just beforehand to test the two heroes.
1 blue and 1 red should be enough. By act 2 the hero would have skills that affect his beast, and the wolf has done just fine with those dice. The idea of getting access to the surge abilities of the hero's weapon is nice.
Think about it like this: Would I ever choose the wolf over the other familiars? If the answer is no, the custom familiar is too powerful.

Thank you for the insight. I have tendency to overpower customs
I'd upload the new one, but I've reached the limit.

So I was looking at skeletons on Reaper & thought it would be cool to have a Reanimate Archer that rolled 1 Blue & 1 Yellow with +1 Range Surge as well as a Reanimate Champion (Reanimate #2 in Useful Links Thread) that costs 3XP to use, not sure on Dice or Abilities yet. There's also a collection of Baby Dragons that would be neat for the Beastmaster.
I love your idea of custom familiars, but I have to agree with the others: you tend to make them too powerful (especially the bear)
Here is what I'd suggest, based on this familiar pack:
https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/familiar/sku-down/77216
- Wolf: melee familiar, speed 4, 3HP, blue+red, surge: piece 1 (standard)
- Bear: melee familiar, speed 3, 5 HP, 1brown defence die, blue , surge: recover 1 heart
- Cat: melee familiar, speed 5, 3 HP, blue+yellow, surge: +1 heart
- Sparrow (?): melee familiar, speed 3 or 4, 2HP, flying, blue+green, surge: bleeding, surge: +1 heart
- Wolverine (?): melee familiar, speed 2 or 3, 3 HP, 2 green, surge: poison (may poison even if the attack does not deal damage), if the target is poisoned: surge +2 heart (some ability like the serpent dagger)
So, my bear is intended to be a blocker, not a damage dealer.
Maybe one familiar could be ranged as well
I also made a Reanimate Archer & Reanimate Champion for the Necromancer Class. The Reanimate Champion costs 3 XP.

If you designed this card just to fool around that would be perfectly fine but if you seriously intend to use it, you need to nerf it. It may not look like a big deal that the Bear can use the hero's surges, but it is. Let me give examples of the Bear that MAY occur in Act I and WILL occur in Act II, because the heroes can buy any of these cards after the Interlude. The Bear can also quite easily roll two surges after the first two quests so the following examples are not uncommon.
Iron Battleaxe: +2 damage and pierce 1
Jeweled Mace: +4 damage
Dire Flail: +3 damage
Light Hammer: +2 damage and stun
Mace of Aver: +2 damage and stun
If the Heroes get the Ironbound Glaive in Act II the Bear get pierce 3 and +3 damage....
All of that is infinitely better that the 1 pierce of the wolf or the 1 extra damage of the Reanimate which relates to my earlier point: Why would you ever pick something else than the Wolf (that is the definition of 'overpowered' btw).
It would just be a shame if the OL would get frustrated midway a campaign because the Bear is wrecking everything and he can't kill it because you bought Stalker for 1XP. Or the other scenario, that the OL player would ban the Bear so you can only use it in co-op mode.
