every computer i tested this on i had not encountered this problem until I looked at it on my phone, and thanks for bringing it to my attention, this being said the only real issue i see is the boost dice not being blue there, the rest still works =P

Other than a quick glance using what we're used to for the color coding making that light side pip appear to be a proficiency die. ?

Hi Everyone,

Can the font I posted be downloaded now? I contacted the admins and they said it should work. Of course it works for me, but it always did.

I've attached an image showing all the symbols in their correct (as in a color picker grab) colors.

No.

I can confirm that Mensch's dropbox link works. Would have been terribly shocked if it didn't, as I use dropbox myself for many things.

Eh, just making sure I shared it properly. I'm an old school computer guy, all this clicking around wears me out.

Since it works and Dropbox allows for 10GB in daily transfers, here it is: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vhihmkb0jsipdtw/EotESymbol-Regular-PLUS.otf?dl=0

All credit goes to the original creator, I only added the light/dark pip and did a passable job at that. Good luck!

Unfortunately, none of the colors translated for me:

I don't get colors, either.

OH! I should have said that the colors don't come with the font, that's just how I personally did them (and I save a little box with them in any app wherein I use them.) One can use a color picker on my image to get them.

Hm, if I am truly to be the maintainer of this, I would probably like to steal Oggy's idea for icons denoting upgrades, downgrades, and increased and decreases in difficulty.

However, it should be mentioned that I am no font master. I stumbled through freeware to get this far on the backs of giants who came before.

Another downside is if you're using a public computer (such as a library computer) for internet access, you're SOL.

This font CAN be installed on an iOS device with the Anyfont utility, although it's true that it is less useful on public computing resources. There's a set of images available that could get around this, but that would be pure pain to integrate into a document for a guy like me.

Hey lookit that, I fount that I CAN embed the colors with the font if I use certain utilities. I will look into this.

Here are the RGB values you can just enter them in Apple’s color picker and even save them as a color set. To get the CMYK values just toggle from RGB to CMYK in the color picker or you will have to use Photoshop or some other app.

This is from an older thread in the EoTE forum .

Boost Blue: 114, 204, 219

Difficulty Purple: 82, 36, 128

Challenge Red: 209, 35, 42

Ability Green: 63, 172, 73

Proficiency Yellow: 255, 241, 0

The easiest way to keep the colors easily available for use is to make a cheat sheet document in the program you use and then copy from there. If you want portability to a computer without the typeface installed, you can save the document as a pdf (it will embed the typeface in the document like in this example: ffg-star-wars-symbols.pdf ).

I use the notes app on iOS / Mac all the colors come across the cloud just fine (notes does not retain CMYK values). I used the AnyFont app to install the typeface on my phone, it seems to work pretty well except I had to install the segue ui symbol font to get the black and white force pip to show up on the phone. I assume you could do a similar set up on Android devices.

Clarity.

Hi. I’m not quite a year later!

I was wondering, was there ever a definitive answer to how to make these symbols work for iOS? I’ve always done all of my RPG planning on Pages on the iPad so it’d be wonderful to be able to use the EoTE dice symbols.

I can find loads on how to make things work in Word but nothing on iOS.

Thanks.

Use the AnyFont.app to load fonts on iOS, it's kind of a kludge but it only costs a couple of dollars an it works.

The typeface I got to display all of the symbols on iOS is called "star wars symbols EOTE EN non official.ttf" its some where on this site; there is some weirdness with the despair symbol but it's minor. The system font on the mac which is the default for Notes.app scales in iOS, but the symbol font won't scale like it does so I found that I had to increase the point size to 16 so it would display better in iOS notes. I'm not sure how it would look in Evernote I don't like the subcription structure of that program.

The masthead, and subheader font in the books is called Maqui Heavy; I think Maqui Bold looks better as a display font on screens than the Heavy weight does. However, Maqui is a commercial font which costs at least $18 for just one typeface in the family.

If your are just looking to display word docs on your phone with the typeface you're using you could just print them as PDF's since that format embeds some of the font in its file.

Eoen, you’re a genius ... thank you .. and I’m sorry to bug you with more questions. But, did you figure out how to regain the colour for the symbols? At the minute they’re all just black or blank blobs ...

This solution has worked for me for years. However, I used a different font, which I am sharing here via dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vhihmkb0jsipdtw/EotESymbol-Regular-PLUS.otf?dl=0

I am not the author although I did add the light dark pip but that is the extent of my font mastery, and I consider myself lucky that I got that done.

Thanks, but the link is all black and white ...

... any idea how to get colour?

Yes, well I think I’m being a dumbass. I’ll just change the colour of the font, shall I?

I just use the color picker on my Mac in notes.app it displays fine in the notes.app on iOS. It’s .rtf text, every vendor has their own version of rich text emplemented in their software and they rarely work with each other. Sometimes you can paste with style if that command is available.

If your using Microsoft software then Onenote is at least the same vendor, it’s cross platform, and I’ve heard good things about it.

Pretty much.

There, Pages on iPad with my copy/pasteable cheat sheet, ready to use. Thanks for your help, both of you.

Nice are you building a module?

Did you ever find out how to do this?

I recently started using TextExpander which is a program that lets you set up keywords to trigger pasting from it's database of text you write. How ever I found out because of this that rich text doesn't always pass all its' metadata along when pasting from one vendors app in to say Apples apps or even between some Apple apps to other Apple apps. So for instance I cannot style a text block in TextExpander and have the colors paste into notes, but bold does; well sometimes it works if I paste from notes into TextExpander and on the return trip it might paste the style or apply the Title style to everything. I assume there is some invisible doctype header I am not seeing in the paste.

Or are you saying the color value is embedded in the font file, and not the document level?
