So after perusing the latest X-wing thread, I had a bit of an idea. People like thematic titles. The slooping Falcon title was all the rage at my FLGS because it vaguely resembled a movie scene. Here's a few thematic titles:
The B-wing was renowned for its heavy shielding (more impressive than any other fighter of the time), and this isn't really reflected in the game. Sure, they have high shield value, but that doesn't directly translate to durability :
Blade Wing
(Title, 1 point, B-wing Only) - maybe stick it in rebel most wanted or something. I don't see another B-wing ace pack.
Your action bar gains the [reinforce] icon.
Or:
When defending, if you have shield tokens remaining, you may add 1 evade result to your roll.
The Firespray was a ship known for its dog fighting capability, as well as durability and speed (not to mention that awesome rotating cockpit). Triple bounty hunters were once a decent list. Now, Fenn Rau could take them by himself, most likely:
Firespray-31 Weapons System
(Title, 1 point, Firespray Only) - A massive damage boost, plus some rear arc goodness..
You may perform secondary weapon attacks out of your rear firing arc. Once per round, after you perform an attack with a [cannon] secondary weapon that costs 5 or less squad points you may perform a second attack.
The YT-2400 was an extraordinarily maneuverable ship. While Dash exemplifies this, his ship does not, as of yet:
Correllian Special
(Title, 3 points, YT-2400 only) - A free action-that-isn't-an-action, or a weaker version of
Outrider
for generic YTs.
After you perform a maneuver, you may execute a boost or barrel roll. You may flip this card at the end of the combat phase.
Or:
You may perform [Cannon] attacks outside your firing arc. When performing a [cannon] attack outside your firing arc, roll 1 less attack die. You may flip this card at the end of the combat phase.
What do you think, are these upgrades thematic enough to be fun to play, while not being overpowered.
