CC Squadron Question

By mcworrell, in Star Wars: Armada

Finally got my hands on the Corellian Conflict and I was putting the new squadrons together and realized that there is no actual markings for Green Squadron, Rogue Squadron or the others on the actual disks. How is everyone telling them apart from generic squadrons? I have done some "painting" with sharpies, but don't want to rush it quite yet, I want to think about how to do it well. Might want to prime this set. In the mean time how is everyone telling them apart?

I could just use ID Tokens, but I want to see if anyone has better ideas.

The additional/changed Keyword Icons are on the Base. Because that's the only difference between the Standard and the Non-Named Uniques.

True. I was think of marking them because in a large fur ball of fighters it might be tough to see those icons.

Of course.

But that's the way the game is already.

I mean, seriously, what's the matter? You guys don't have the symbols memorized yet? And what do you mean you can't see the icons from across the table? Squint harder!

If you need to squint to see that across 3 foot you may need glasses : D

I have Glasses.

Painting them all unique colors

Don't we all?

Growing up, all the kids without glasses had girlfriends, and would never have dreamed about playing board/miniature/role-playing games with us nerds.

Didn't they make the health end of the ship have a different color on the base? (like instead of blue they were green or silver?) I know still hard to tell the difference.

I got lenses, got some girlfriends...AND kept gaming :-)

I have near 20/20, never worn glasses, yet the nerd is strong with this one.

I too cannot see the tiny symbols from across the table.

Put some love and paint on those squadrons ;)

Put some paint on 'em, and when that doesn't work because you ended up with a menagerie of magnificent minion, you can do what you said (and what I do) and pop a sharpie-shaded squadron ID token on the elites. I find it works surprisingly well and I'm running with 12 flights of fighters fighting....

... 11 phantoms phasing, 10 ties a-tilting, 9 lambda's loit'ring, 8 A's attacking, 7 B's a buzzing....
