Return of Neb

By NairoD, in Star Wars: Armada

Together with my two friends, during one of ours Armada talks we figure out new Nebulon role.

Imagine one shot with Nebulon that score 13hits. Impossible you said. Oh yes it is.

Nebulon B with Salvation title spinal/slave turrets with concentrated fire order. Add Mr. Sato and voila. Possible 13hit score.

You ask How?

Nebulon 3 front red dices plus 1 red dice from modification. We swap 2 dices to black thanks to Sato. Then we add another black from order. Now we have 2 red and 3 black dices. But hold on. Each crit count as 2 hits because of salvation so if we roll hit and/orcrit on red and 3 crits on black we get totally 13 hits. Tasty

Enjoy

True, but what are the odds of the perfect roll. I know it could happen, but historically my red dice are not good. I wish there was some way to add dice modification to the Neb.

With that being said, I plan on using the Satovation later this weekend. I'm praying for that big roll.

I'm probably taking it to a tournament myself in a few weeks.

I wonder....

Sato (32)

Neb B Escort + Salvation + Spinal (73)
MC80 Assault + Defiance + Enhanced Armament (129)
AFM2 a + Paragon + Spinal (95)
Z95 x3 (21)

350 points. 50 points left for more upgrades, or more squadrons for Sato.

Best damage per round?
13 from Salvation (as above)
16 from Defiance (4 red 2 blue on a side arc becomes 4 black, 3 red 2 blue from Sato, title, command and armament)
11 from Paragon (same as Defiance)

best case of 40 damage per round unless you can double arc

Still though, a VSD I at close range with command, Dominator and EL can roll 6 black, 2 blue and 3 red for a best case of 20 damage

your 3 z95 will be dead by turn 3. At least add a flotilla, Tycho, possibly Han, fill the gap with A-Wings and you're set.

No biggie, I'll brace your 13 hits to 7 and then redirect.

This is why I personally run Sato Salvation with XI7 and IO. :)

Congratulations. That's about as good as it gets :D

Your Brand New, Fresh ISD just lost all shields on 2 Faces.

... I mean, it was Brand New and Fresh, right?

Because if it has lost even a single one of those shields, its probably taking Critical Damage as well as losing those shields.......

I mean, I was throwing SatoVation at Regionals here in Calgary... Just the Neb-B with Salvation, throwing those dice...

Doing Ten Damage and watching it be Braced to 5, and Redirected, was still sweeeeeet for me...

Why?

Because my Ship was worth less than 60 points, and it still made you Brace and Redirect FIVE damage in one round.

Lighten up Francis

A little Friday night humor

FRANCIS?

... Be afraid of this Sato-Logical Terror We've Created.

The Ability to Vaporise an ISD is not insignificant, even next to the power of the Force.....

Seriously.

Sato Makes little ships punch way above their Weight Class in ways even Demolisher can be jealous of.

Awww... Here I am thinking we've stumbled across a lead on Dras' name...

I'll will call him my Lord.

On a serious note nice combo and as a Rebel player I'll use it.

I Didn't say it was perfect, or good even, was just a thought. Still theres 50 points left to spend, thats another 7 sqns of Z95's to act as defensive screen and to keep Sato proccing.

But what do I know, I'm an Imperial player who still loves double ISD II's and as many TIE's as I can bring. I don't care if I lose, just look at that glorious fleet.

I came up with this idea when wave 5 was announced. :P

The problem with the neB is still the same: it's angles, it`'s shields, and it's all design in general. It seems to be created to exploit its weaknesses. I saw too many times a Neb crushed at the second turn taking side shots from a rhymerball. Not to mention that it is hell easy to escape from its front side arc. That ship was good for the core base game. It became broken and useless with wave 1-2 and it never recovered. Only Yavaris has some use as glass-cannon carrier.

When you said "Return of the Neb" I was 150% sure it was going to be about Yavaris likely defining the new meta until the next wave.

Yep - I have Salvation in my SAto CC list and it's...not the best. Gets one-shotted too easily by ISDs, is hard to keep on target and without lots of upgrades it's a bit meh even if you get lots of crits. Wish i'd gone with another MC-30 - they are horrible in a Sato list. 6 black dice out a single arc is dirty and throwing two blacks at long range with APT as you get into position is just icing on the cake.

Hell, I'm even preferring using my Pelta over the Neb!

Yeah, I like the Neb ok as a sniper, but that's about it. I was also thinking of putting an Assault Pelta in it's place.
