PC Droid Brain + starfighter. How do make one?

PC Droid Brain + starfighter. How do make a starfighter into a character? And can a character or npc add extra emplacement points on a starship and where is the rules for doing that?

Edited by Trigger Happy Droid

I guess you could do that. There are no rules and as a GM I would have a serious sit down with the player as to why they would want to do this. I'm not saying I would say no but it sounds very limiting. I would go more the route of adding actual controls to the astromech socket of an existing straighter. And if said fighter did not have one I would take up an hard point to add one.

Install an astromech socket, damage the eject function, done. ;-)

Mechanically it really does not need anything else. You certainly can describe the fluff a little different, but in the end the PC is just an integrated astromech.

Just make an Astromec PC.

Characteristics of: 1,3,4,2,2,1.

Take any of these specs: Driver, Gunner, Mechanic, Modder

Plug into ship and fly.

I think the Player is being a little difficult to say "My PC never leaves the ship... ever." They need to be prepared to tell a story beyond space flight otherwise just go play X-Wing.

In this case RIGGER! :D

You are the ship after all, you definitely own that ship and it is definitely your signature vehicle °_^

edit: But coming out from time to time seems still reasonable, our astromech for example needs to use her workshop in her VCX-100 constantly for example. which works a lot better if you the ability to run around in the ship.

Should I make a BB-8 Rigger droid and pilot a B-wing with a Pseudo-cloaking device? Then should I take the modder specialization later for the extra emplacement points? Or for a ship should I take the Barrage Gunship and add the same cloaking device plus add a turret? I can name the gunship "Plays with Missiles". Or should I get the VCX-100 with the cloaking device and add missiles? What are some good Astromech droid options? For an unusual astromech body? Plus what can my droid body have installed for free?

And my GM says that I cannot steal a Tie Phantom! :(

In my head all I see is cylon raider when I read this topic

As a Droid anything can be integrated, so long as the GM approves... a Light Repeating Blaster in a BB droid is definitely not ok! But tool kits, scanner goggles, Comlink, armour, holsters, backpacks, datapads are all ok with me.

for a ship I would say take whatever your GM will give you, anything is better than nothing ? But if you have free choice then a Y-Wing, you can take 2 Meatbags with you to do the boring stuff! Otherwise a Firespray is good, Awing or Xwing if you really want to rumble.

The A-Wing comes without astromech socket, sitting in the pilot seat is an option, but annoying ^_°

I rather would take a V-Wing or X-Wing or Y-Wing, as they all have mech sockets, the X-Wing is especially good as astromechs can increase the speed of their ships as maneuver, which brings the X-Wing up to 6 if you need it, while have the superior sturdiness and firepower of the X-Wing. Though the X-Wing and Y-Wing get minus points for not being able to get down to silhouette zero, unlike the A-Wing which can reach sil 0 with a few thousand credits invested into for a nightshadow coating and a few XP to get from some tree tricky target. The included ECM is great help for the A-Wing.

Now for people who want it all, the Hapan Cluster as the right offer for you: http://swrpg.viluppo.net/transportation/starships/2830/

Miy'til Starfighter

Sil 2, 1 Hardpoint left for nightshadow or ecm, twin medium lasers and a concussion missile launcher, it does not punch as hard as the A-Wing, but the astromech socket makes plenty up for it, at least if you combine pilot and astromech teams, both as player characters on it. With a price tag of 210,000 credits nothing the GM should hand out early in the game, but certainly an interesting ship for a piloting team, especially if you combine a meatbag with pilot/hotshot and astromech with rigger/modder and get this way two extra hardpoints, but as well with other builds like squadron leader/gambler/hotshot + gunner/rigger, etc … but those combos work on other ships too, as mentioned, X-Wings. Y-Wings and V-Wings are strong contenders too. Even the A-Wing is nice when combined with modder/rigger for the extra hardpoints, astromech socket, etc
