Dark side force user... please help

By LordEnforcer, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

My character juts dropped to the dark side.. What are all the differences I have to pay now? do I use dark side points now and take strain for using light side points I roll?

If I have heal/harm can I no longer use heal to heal other group members?

What else is different when playin a dark side character?

Yes, you now use Dark Side Force Points when using Force powers unless you flip a Destiny Point and take Strain. You can no longer use Heal at all. To heal yourself or others, you need to use Harm to drain the energy from a third party. (F&D page 292-293) You can only use Protect on yourself.

After the party rolls Destiny Points for the start of the session, you must flip one Light Side Destiny Point to a Dark Side Destiny Point. After certain thresholds, your Strain Threshold decreases and your Wound Threshold increases.

In order to return to the Light Side, you need to get your Morality to 70.

Your Morality would actually need to exceed 70 to become light side again. It's a lengthy process and requires a lot of effort on the part of the dark side pc. The book suggests it becomes a major plot point, a "redemption arc" that you and your gm work together to tell.

Not true. The core rule book specifically states that your Morality score must hit 70, not necessarily exceed it. Page 375 of F&D states:

Redemption:

Redemption from the dark side is not easy. Not only does it require a long climb back up to a Morality of 70, but a character's redemption should also be challenging narratively.

Adding to the redemption challenge is that using dark sided pips to generate force points still earns the Dark Sided Force User conflict.

One thing that some people forget is that you still suffer conflict for using Darkside points, even as a Dark Side Force user. So once you start down that path, forever will it dominate your destiny.
