Old Republic

Has anyone ever tried to or successfully run an Old Republic Game with this system? I figure it wouldn't be to hard to make it work.

This is a question often asked here and on the swrpg subreddit.

The most common answer is yes it's simple, just use the same stats as what's in the books and simply rename them to the appropriate things for that time period.

Examples would be renaming Rebel Troops to Republic Soldiers, renaming Stormtroopers to Sith Soldiers, etc...

The nicest thing about adapting this game system to other eras of play is the archetypal careers and specializations. Rather than being specific to a particular group or people, which the d20/Saga classes often did, each career and specialization can be applied to a broad range of groups and independents.

Adversaries are also easy: just find an existing adversary that fits, and give them a new name.

Vehicles are harder -- I recommend finding something that is close enough and just renaming it. Gear is case-by-case, but that can be done simply by making the gear "generic" over "name brand."

A lot of ships from the Old Republic era have already been statted up by people on these forums also, so it's worth looking around.
