Squadron Points

By Vagabond Nomad, in Star Wars: Armada

I'm new to the game, so I apologize for the dumb question. I'm trying to play the introductory battle with my son, but I'm confused when it comes to squadrons. It says something like, "put out your squadrons", but do I put them all out? Isn't there some sort of point limitation? I guess I'm confused, because I haven't been able to find anything in the rules (although it may be there, and I just haven't found it) that talks about squadrons, points, etc.

I'm kind of confused about how the squadron cards come in, and correspond to the squadron tokens. It's a little fuzzy to me, and I'm probably being dense, so thank you in advance for minimizing how stupid feel :)

Thanks to anyone able to offer some help.

It has been a long time since I played theIntroductory battle, but I believe you are just supposed to use all of the squadrons that are provided in the Core Set, whichis 4x X-Wings and 6x TIE Fighters

When you are deploying, you place them in groups of 2, and they must be placed within distance 2 of a Friendly ship.

These rules apply even to the full version of the game - Placed in groups of 2, and placed within distance 2 of a Friendly ship.

When you are building a list, the list can contain no more than 1/3rd of its points (rounded up) in Squadrons. For a 180pt Game, that's 60... For a 300, thats 100... For the Tournament Standard 400, that's 134.

You only need 1 copy of the Squadron Card, but pay the Squadron Points value on that card, for each basic squadron that you include.

So if I have 3 X-Wings, I am paying 39 Points (3x13), but I only need 1 copy of the card to reference all of them.

Thanks - I'll give it another try this weekend, and see if it starts to come together for me. Appreciate your clarification - I think this will help.

Not sure if this is partially what you are asking, but you can run multiple squadrons off a single card, you don't need a card for each actual squadron. That really, REALLY threw me when I opened the core set, mostly because I am a bit silly at times.
