Reviving the swarm: A new take

By Englishpete, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I decided I wanted a list that was a little of the wall and so I thought about how Ackbar might be utilized in a swarm list. This is my solution to that question...

The Mon Calamari Wasps

I'm new to the game, and I have one big question. How do you fly this list?

At full speed all the time, spamming nav commands like they're going out of style. Seriously, Rebel MSU is my jam, and you get into trouble if you fly it any other way.

I'm finding it more cost effective to drop upgrades and run them naked if it gets you more ships. Even with Derlin you'll have to be too careful with your flagship here I think, which will cause you to lose shots. This list doesn't put out enough damage to enable you to lose shots. Each ship needs to shoot at least 3-4 out of the six turns to put out enough damage to deal with the average fleet. With a Rebel MSU the rule is "Audacity! Always audacity!" (I forget who said that one though)

Also, fighter screen is too light. Those four aren't going to do anything but tie down a few, and only if they weren't smart enough to bring an intel fighter. They'll throw some throwaways at your screen, then bomb you 90's at will. I'd drop the unique squadrons and up the fighter count.

Thanks for the help! Makes sense, you don't want your ships to get pinned down, or focus fired.

Sorry, another question: what's MSU?
