Need advice with Sato list

By Corinthius, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So I'm pretty new to the game, going to a tournament in a couple days and need a list. So far this is what I've come up with:

[ REBEL FLEET (399 points)
1 • Assault Frigate Mark II B - Commander Sato - Adar Tallon - Expanded Hangar Bay - Dual Turbolaser Turrets (124)
2 • GR-75 Combat Retrofits - Toryn Farr - Bomber Command Center - Bright Hope (41)
3 • GR-75 Combat Retrofits - Bomber Command Center - Boosted Comms - Quantum Storm (37)
4 • MC30c Torpedo Frigate - Ordnance Experts - Assault Proton Torpedoes - XI7 Turbolasers - Admonition (86)
5 • Y-wing Squadron (10)
6 • Y-wing Squadron (10)
7 • Y-wing Squadron (10)
8 • Y-wing Squadron (10)
9 • Jan Ors Moldy Crow (19)
10 • X-wing Squadron (13)
11 • X-wing Squadron (13)
12 • X-wing Squadron (13)
13 • X-wing Squadron (13)

Precision Strike

Contested Outpost

Superior positions

Idea is the frigate and the flotillas push the bombers forward hopefully wrecking anything they swarm over, and admonition goes on a flank and throws 6 black dice at things. Let me know where I could improve! And could do with help for objectives (don't have correllian conflict)

EDIT: Forgot to put objectives on

My advice is to take out 1 Y wing, trade an X for Tycho, upgrade the MC30 to a scout, and trade Xi7 for Spinal Armament (if you have it, otherwise Xi7 is good). Subtle changes, but I think you'll find that these will make a huge difference.

The objectives are good and they'll work just fine for you

It would be nice to get Ordnance Experts on the AFII as well. Currently only one of your ships really benefits from Sato. Combat flotillas hardly count as they will rarely concentrate fire so drop one or both to transport versions.

Thanks for the help guys, this is what I've come up with:

[ REBEL FLEET (400 points)
1 • Assault Frigate Mark II B - Commander Sato - Adar Tallon - Ordnance Experts - Expanded Hangar Bay - Dual Turbolaser Turrets (128)
2 • MC30c Scout Frigate - Ordnance Experts - Assault Proton Torpedoes - XI7 Turbolasers - Admonition (92)
3 • GR-75 Combat Retrofits - Toryn Farr - Bomber Command Center - Bright Hope (41)
4 • GR-75 Combat Retrofits - Ahsoka Tano - Bomber Command Center - Quantum Storm (35)
5 • Y-wing Squadron (10)
6 • Y-wing Squadron (10)
7 • Y-wing Squadron (10)
8 • Tycho Celchu A-wing Squadron (16)
9 • X-wing Squadron (13)
10 • X-wing Squadron (13)
11 • X-wing Squadron (13)
12 • Jan Ors Moldy Crow (19)
13 • Objectives - Precision Strike - Contested Outpost - Superior Positions (0)

I dropped boosted comms for ordnance experts on the AFMKII, other changes meant I could squeeze in ashoka on a transport. Only thing I'm debating now is changing the transports to the cheaper unarmed ones so I get 1 more Y-wing, but not sure if that would be better. Idea being the transports just chuck a black dice each at medium range, all adding to the death by a thousand cuts approach.

The idea here is to keep the af built like a warship, not a carrier...that is what the GR75's are for.

Looks better!.. Tycho is paramount in making Sato work well.. speed 5, cannot be pinned and he has Scatter. He should be the one being at range 1 of the target of the Sato effect. .. My Sato list have 2 naked GR-75 transports that I keep FAR away from the combat and instead I activate through relay via 2 VCX freighters - but with Bomber Command center you would want to keep them near.

Ok tried my list in a small tournament and found out a couple things. First game was vs a regionals winner, and me being a novice I wasn't expecting too much. He was using an MC80 and salvation with some elite fighters and a transport. I almost dropped the MC80 with a sneak attack from the gr75s, when I revealed a concentrate fire and threw 2 blacks out of a transport rolling hit/crit X2 it was pretty satisfying, though sadly I couldn't quite clear the distance and got stuck, blocking my other transport from doing the same which cost me a potential kill (would have needed to be lucky) and the game. I got lumped with the BYE for the next round, and in the final match found myself in a mirror match. Another Sato with an AFMKII, MC30, Salvation and a GR75, and a load of elite fighters. My bombers got 1 good run, chewing through Salvation, but then got locked up for the rest of the game with only Tycho able to move around. Again this was another loss, in both games I lost the squadron fight getting jammed up early, thinking I may have to revisit my squadron choices.

For me there's not enough to take advantage of Sato. One AF and a couple of single dice flotillas. The mc30 is already geared for pumping out blacks at short range so seems a bit meaningless under Sato. Have you considered Neb Bs or Corvettes? Or even a big mc80 Mon Karren?
