Hi,
This is my first English report.
Second week-end of january was held the French "Sud-Ouest" Regionals.
I went there with this list:
Chiraneau + Lone Wolf + Engine Upgrade
Oicunn + Tick Shot + Darth Vader + Rebel Captive

Oicunn is there to counter aces with two sources of unavoidable damage. I have long sought out a partner. In the end, what better than a second VT-49?
Chiraneau is therefore the finisher. He has two dice modifications and then can dedicate his action to the boost.
The big weakness of this list are swarms and defenders which combine agility and large number of HP.
I made the bet that swarms would not be played at this tournament and that there would be many defender counter lists. In the end, I was right because I saw three defender list played.
Having not noted anything, I do not remember the exact scores, let alone the names. All my apologies to my opponents...
First match: Miranda + Homing missile, Jan Ors, Jake Farell
I decide to focus Jan Ors and assuming that:
- Oicunn will be able to eliminate Jake when the opportunity arises
- the decimators will laugh at the missiles.
First engagement, without Jake who is trying to flank, Miranda fires a missile at Oicunn.
"I can hold it!" said Oicunn "but uh... why do you throw as many dice?" My opponent had explained me his compo though. But as long as you do not burn yourself, you do not realize the danger.
To avoid a second missile, Oicunn comes within range 1 of Miranda. It's a failure, Miranda also has 5 dice in range 1 ... And it will take me 3 or 4 rounds to kill Jan Ors.
Defeat 0-1
Game 2: Whisper, Valen Rudor, Soontir Fel both without autoprop
My opponent did not have many games behind him and was here to for the fun. He did not make any mistakes but obviously did not know how to engage this match despite my advices.
Victory. 1-1
Third match: Soontir Fel, Vader, Palpamobile
I deployed badly and Chiraneau ended up in front of Oicunn for the first engagement. Chiranneau suffered heavy fire and Oicunn could not bump. But Oicunn was able to Vader my opponent's Predator Vader. Luckily, he was playing with the old damage deck and received the Injured Pilot critic ("All players must ignore your pilot ability and all of your Elite upgrade cards"). Chiraneau fled followed by the lambda and a Vader who did not survived the next round. Thanks to the Reble Captive, Soontir was double-stressed and could only go away from the fight to avoid a bump and asteroids. The Palpamobile finished a critic-ridden Chiraneau. A mid-life Oicunn was on the hunt for Soontir. The Lambda turns tight while trying his luck on a debris to have Oicunn in arc. Second stroke of luck: the palpamobile received the Blinded Pilot critic ("you can not shoot"). Oicunn finished the shuttle and finds himself at 7 hull facing a stressed 2-hull Soontir at the edge of map. Bump and Vader time...
In the end the mistake at deployment allowed Oicunn to stay in the game with his anti-ace weapons.
Victory. 2-1
Fourth match: Ghost, K-wing, lots of bombs
When seeing my list, my opponent declared that he could not win. I did not agree all but I keep my opinion for myself.
At the start of the game, the VT-49 crossed the map to its vessels. I expected him to point the 4 dice of his Ghost towards my 0 dice of agility but he chose to go along the edge. The decimators took the turret shots while pounding the Ghost.
Luck is on my side: his K-wing ended on a debris for a mere millimeter instead of releasing its conner net. I made off the stats rolls like 3 crits 1 eye changed to 4 crits by Chiraneau or 3 blank dice passing on a mine (yes, they were the same dice).
Victory. 3-1
Fifth match: Assaj, Manarro, Fenn Rau with Attanni Mindlink.
With initiative, my opponent placed his manaroo in his right corner. I put Oicunn in front to prevent him from circling the map in his "good" way. He put Assaj next to Manarro and Fenn in the middle of the map.
4 straight for the decimators in formation facing his big bases. Fenn turned to flank through the obstacles. And there, the ERROR: instead of turning on Fenn Rau to destroy it quickly, I continued in straight line.
Assaj with Latts Razzi absorbed Chiraneau's attacks. Oicunn died having used Vader only once on Fenn Rau. But a full-life Chiraneau started a cat and mouse game in the middle of obstacles. My opponent made some flying mistakes. Attani Mindlink is double-edged when there are debris. Chiraneau was at 11 hull, Assaj at 1 Hull but out of range and Fenn Rau at 1 hull with his back turned to Chiraneau when the last was called. Fenn Rau made a 5 straight and a boost and took with him my chances to access top 8...
Defeat. 3-2
Last match for fun: Dengaroo.
Dengar met the two Decimators in the middle of the map. After some subtle and delicate rounds of firing, Dengar disappeared and the Decimators are both at mid-life. Time to go after Manaroo along the edge of the map. In the corner, Oicunn went full-speed for the final bump but Manaroo did a 1 turn and dodged the bump. Oicunn smashed on the brakes but could not avoid going out of the map at the next turn. Manaroo still at one single hull dodged all Chiraneau attacks and finished him with a risky but winning R5-P8 hit.
Defeat.
In the end, I was happy for all the good games but a bit frustrated to see that 6 out of the top 8 lists were OldFennRoo. A list I always won against in training...
Anyway I was very lucky to face no x7 Defender list...
