OK, quick question. Exactly how do you use the Orkos dice roller. Specifically, what are the codes you use and what do each of them mean and do?

The codes refer to each of the special dice used in this system. Unlike other RPGs this system used a set of custom dice. The main two are ability (green) and difficultly (purple). There are also proficiency (yellow) and challenge (red), these are upgraded versions of the ability and difficultly. Two more secondary dice are also in the system boost (blue) and setback (black), these are situational and are added to checks for bonuses or extra effort needed to complete the check.
More information on the symbols and how to interpret the dice rolls can be found in the game masters section of the core rules book. It is highly recommended that new players, like yourself, become familiar with the dice.

I know that. My question is what are the dice codes that Orkos uses to get each of those dice, and how do you make Orkos work using them. I've never used Orkos before.
In other words, what die code do you use for the blue die? What die code do you use for the green die? What die code do you use for the yellow die? What die code do you use for the Black die? What die code do you use for the purple die? what die code do you use for the red die? What die code do you use for the white die? That is what I need to know.

The index is on their site. Why do you want to use that dice roller if you do not understand how to use it?

First, because it's the standard used in the PbP games here, and secondly, given that this is my first PBP of any game, anyway, I want to know. I've never used any dice roller programs only actual dice, which really isn't feasible in a PbP.
Also, unfortunately, that index does not include the full list of EotE/AoR/F&D dice, just the Ability, Proficiency, and Difficulty ones.

I would highly recommend that someone new to RPGs, FFG, PBP, and working together in a group that you read through some play by posts first . They can show you how to play the system, how to make the dice rolls, and how groups interact to collectively to make the experience enjoyable to all players.

Well, I'm not new to RPGs. I've been playing those for over thirty years, from D&D , Battle Tech , Mekton , Cyberpunk , WEG Star Wars , D20 Star Wars , Star Frontiers , Car Wars ... So I'm an old hack in that department. I'm just new specifically to PbP. I have read some of the on-going games here. That's how I know about Orkos, but they don't really provide detailed instruction on how to use the dice roller. And I figure, I'd best learn how to use it by actually doing so. This is one of the reasons why I don't want to GM just yet. I want to get more familiar and practiced with the system and Orkos dice roller.
I know I'm not participating in this game but I believe orokos uses XeY+XeY format with X being the number of dice and Y being the specific die. 2eA+2eD would be 2 Ability dice (green) and 2 Difficulty dice (purple).

Yeah, Ifigured that much out, but I need a full list of the specific codes for all of the different dice. The Orkos index only gives me a sample of three of them (green Ability, yellow Proficiency, and purple Difficulty). What about the others? What about the red Challenge die, the blue Boost die, the black Setback die, the white Force die. None of these are covered in the index.
Most are the first letter of that die, capitalized so boost would be... B, or for 2 boost dice it would be 2eB try it with others
OK, then the code are as such:
- B=blue Boost die
- S=black Setback die
- A=Green Ability die
- P=Yellow Proficiency die
- D=purple Difficulty die
- C=red Challenge die
- F=White Force die
Am I correct?

Why not just test it and see for yourself?

If you would have read through the entire list is clearly covers all the dice. I added picture of all of the dice codes so you can see it clearly from the site in which the information is covered.
Thanks. That was what I was looking for, but couldn't find it. All I found was the three examples. The fact that they're not in a proper "list" order, and instead kept within the sentence structure divided by commas didn't help either. A bulleted list would have made it much easier to find.
So, how are people coming with their characters?

Fine-ish. Having a hard time finding, well, time to get on here. As such I have been dedicating my time to the other PbP's I'm in.

Cool. I noticed Huskie's XP hasn't been spent on skills, talents and such yet. Who's your second character gonna be, or will you need some help with that?
OK, how do you guys want to handle each of your characters' introductions? Not in specifics, but in general. Do you each want to GM your own characters' introductions, have a third party (one of the other players not yet introduced) GM it? Have me GM it? Do you each have a specific idea how you want your character(s) introduced?

Apologies for the lack of activity. I should be able to post more often starting on the 13th of this month.
How are people coming along?

Due to participation in other PbP's and Real Life factors. I apolagise that I will be unable to participate.
I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest you convert this idea... Why don't you do two jedi masters, 2 students, so far the same... Then have just regular.high level character pcs, and have just one gm. If someone wants to guest gm an episode have at it.
I'd be willing to get in, but the whole padawan thing is not my bag...
Edited by TheShardIf someone wanted to GM full time, I'd be OK with that. I just can't yet because of things I need Korath to accomplish as a PC. That and I'm not experienced enough with this particular system yet.
Ideally, I want the balance between high and low level characters about even, simply so that it's fair for all of the players. Though there does not need to be an "even'Mix of Jedi Masters to Jedi apprentices, the number of actual potential apprentices (not just starting characters) should equal or exceed the Jedi Masters. Thus, each Jedi Master could end up training multiple students at a time, or simply divide up duties teaching different lessons to all of the students collectively rather than one-on-one pairings. This isn't the Prequels after all. Remember, the Jedi Star is designed as a training facility (think Arca Jeth's Sungem from TotJ , or the Sanctuary from the Lessons from the Past adventure in the back of the F&D core rules). Thus, it really should have more than one or two students to actually train.
