How many Sabine, Quadjumper, Upsilon to buy?

By Ranker, in X-Wing

Hey all,

How many should I buy of each to minimize shipping costs yet not purchase too many as to never need that many upgrades or ships?

Thanks!

As with all things its personal preference, myself I mightget one sabine tie and 1 quadjumper but no shuttle

Two Rebel /lns gets you what you need to fly all the available pilots at once. For the other two I'd start at one of each.

Well considering Sabine is going to be in every ship in X-wing, you'll probably end up with a lot of Sabines.

In all seriousness, probably only one TIE, and one Upsilon. I don't know how many Quacks you should get though.

I'm going to start at one of each but may end up with two space tractors and teen angst TIE fighters.

I'm going to get two Quad's and one TIE and wait on the shuttle for further funding.

Why two Quads? Paint plans... thats about it! No gameplay reason!

I am doing one of each. Each has at least SOMETHING worthwhile for me as a Rebel/ scum player

Quad- Boshek, and the generic will prob see play when cikatro comes out.

Tie-Rex/ahsoka, emp

Upsilon-hyperwave comm, operations specialist, targeting synchronizer.

My own shopping list consists of 1 TIE and 2 Quads.

I preordered 2 Tie's, 2 Quads, and a single Upsilon all from a FLGS (they offer 10% off on all preorders). I probably need to pick up a second U-wing.

1 on all

these aren't really combat ships (though the Upsilon can kick ass) as much as flying gimmicks and support craft (esp the quad, because it is absolutely god-awful i.t.o stats)

that and most the upgrades are unique or spammed in sufficient quantity (ups)

I do believe the stolen Tie is literally nothing but unique cards

no wait, it has VI

Two Sabine's, gives me all 4 pilots if I choose too and finally is finishing my option for a 7 tie-swarm as well (2 sabine's, 2 from the gozanti, 2 from the core and one from the TIE expansion). Actually I am gonna get the TIE expansion as well, so I am in reality getting three tie fighters ;-)

Right now I have on pre-order 1 Sabine TIE and 1 Upsilon Class-Shuttle; I'll probably get 1 Quadjumper as well eventually

The shuttle will be a must have for Operations Specialist. I'm getting 2 Quackjumpers purely for the troll value. Alright, maybe 4, but that is it.

One Sabine TIE, because despite not making the movies, she somehow rates a release for every item she accidentally brushed across...

PSA:

They're called QuackJumpers or Quacks, not quads:

One of each is my initial buying strategy, then I pick up extras as warranted. For these 3, I'm not expecting I'll be buying more at this point.

One of each, not particularly interested in either, but Op Spec is gonna be amazing, and I may find a use for the UPS. Spending 35+ for imps means the thing better be great cause 35pts goes a LONG way with the IMPs.

I think one of each will be fine. Maybe a second quad if you want extra cranes for multiple ships discarding cards.

I'm starting with one tie and one quad. Maybe I'll pick up Upsilon along the way

Two TIEs, two Upsilons, four Quadjumpers. For funsies.

two quacks. one tie. no shuttle. Who needs another friggin shuttle? Two quacks might actually be semi-competitive whereas 2-4 rebels ties won't be. Also wut was stated above about all those upgrades being unique.

ATM the plan is one of each and see how useful they could be, I can see more then one Jumper useful if you are planing on the bumping but you might be better on taking a Contacted Scout as the large base and be able to barrel roll and turreted primary will be a better option.

I Just like the looks of the Space Bat and Captain Rex is going to useful for Dash and a VCX 100 I think

Literally 0 reason to get more than 2 sabine ties. You dont need the physical ship since paintjobs mean nothing, just use your imperial ties for the other 2 if you really wanna run all 4. All the cards except VI are unique anyway and theres no generic. Only need 2 because of the cardboard (assuming the dial didnt change which i highly doubt).

I believe technically you have to have the right dial for your ship but ive never met anyone that gave a rat's ass about using a scum dial for a rebel z95.

I'm going to get two of each. Wanted to swarm shuttles but you can only fit one regular and two upsilons in a list (wanted 2 and 2!) Well, I mainly want the 2nd shuttle to paint it like the rest of my imperials. I keep one around for the desktop in the original paint. But definitely two of each of the others!

I did end up with 3 strikers but have yet to field that list. Soon!

I'm not planning on getting any. Honestly, this wave looks like a bit of a washout to me; I picked up a U-Wing (man, that ship is pretty) but I have yet to see any convincing reasons to take it in a list.

i think the Uwing's issue is lack of proper crew. All of the rebel crews are either terrible in general or good for THAT ship. I thought Jyn was a good one until i realized i misread the text (the arc is YOUR arc youre checking for enemy ships, not the chosen ship to get the focus).

Which regulates it down to being another ship in your list that needs to pull its own weight, and it simply cant do that very well. I have used it in over a dozen games, won ONCE and i contribute that more to my opponent flew like a dunce not my list was good. I have a better track record with the PUNISHER for pete's sake! lol

You buy 4 sabines, of course.

You'll never can have enough of her.
