Rey and Norra

Expertise, EU, Kanan Jarrus, Finn, Sloop title.

Concept is simple REY IS SCARY, actions don't matter for her as it will always be focus or boost for defense!!!! Norra has regen, damage, and control with tactician hopefully allowing Rey to keep them in arc by forcing some greens or surviving to win the end game! Thoughts concerns? Would like imput on possible variation!

I prefer Tail Gunner on Norra over Tactician as I find the Range 2 on Tactician a bit too limiting. Tail Gunner works the whole time out of the rear arc which combines well with the AO title.

Rey is a beast but you are PS8 which means high PS arc dodgers could give you trouble. Granted a lot of these seem to have faded from the meta somewhat due to /x7 Defenders but popular pilots like Fenn Rau, Dengar and even PS9 Poe could all be dodging your arc and basically turning off both Finn and your pilot ability.

It is a strong list but it is quite dependent on what your opponent brings. You have the firepower to burn through /x7 Defenders and lots of conventional ships but aces will be a tough challenge. This look like the kind of list that will either win big or die horribly depending on your opponent.

Looks fun to play though.

I played Rey and Norra for about 2 months straight and did pretty well! I flew them predominantly like this:

Rey with VI, title, Finn, Kanan, Smuggling Compartment, Glitterstim

Norra with title, PtL, Kyle, R2-D2, VT

VI on Rey made a big difference in quite a few games even without EU, being able to shoot first is a massive deal.

Kyle crew on Norra opens up options for her which I found very useful.

My math has this at 98. Initiative bid or room for upgrades? Only a torp on Nora and missile/mod on Rey. Agreed not many options for any of those at 2 points. The only other thing is to drop SmuggleStim for EU. But I like the one time "expertise" at PS 10. Plus without expertise the stress token doesn't hurt as much.

I really love Expertise Rey, she's a buzzsaw of death. The two concerns I have with her is (obviously) stress and that she's really expensive because I figure EU is auto-include with Expertise Rey. I'm less concerned with Aces, because you'll almost always have a modified shot on them, just maybe not with Finn to help.

Has anyone considered Expertise on Norra, though? I ran the build below the other day and it seems to work out fairly well. Her focus is rarely going to be used on defense anyway, but it is a little redundant with the title out of the rear arc.

I have played Norra in a 2-ship build quite a bit, and my experience is that people do NOT tend to focus Norra first. If the opponent has stuff like a heavy hitting Rey or a Dash with HLC, they focus that first. They do not chase her, but focus your other ship, which limits the effectiveness of tail-gunner. In that case either tactician/kyle/C3PO is better. I personally prefer C3PO since he just give me a late-game monster, if they let her roam free, or kyle if I want a hyper agressive build.

In 3+ ship builds I think tail gunner is a beast though!

Have you thought about running C-3PO on Norra? A bit more of a defensive build but that guaranteed dice of defense can save the ship, especially coupled with R2D2 on her.

I personally love Norra/Rey though - that's the combination I'm playing almost above all others right now.

Over the time I've used this list, I've either held back and gone in on 98pts (in tournies just t make sure Rey shoots first) or I've added something like countermeasures.

Expertise is not a good idea because it doesn't work with the defensive aspect of Norra. She really needs to be able to tank two hits every turn to be viable.

My have combo isn't No-Rey but Ho-Rey.... I think Horten can actually be playable again

I don't think PTL is a great choice for Rey. You haven't given her EU or the old Falcon title meaning she only has 2 actions. She won't need to TL that often because her pilot ability provides rerolls provided you can stay in arc. That means most of the time the only action you will want is Focus.

If you change Rey's EPT to either VI or Expert Handling, you can upgrade Horton's seismic charges to something a little more potent.

Sloop title, Expertise, Kanan, Finn, Smuggling Compartment, Glitterstim, Countermeasures.

Jan Ors - HWK 290

VI, TLT, Nien Numb, Moldy Crow.

Glitterstim with Expertise makes it purely defensive, soooo....is that worth it?

Purely defensive? I don't agree with that. This is almost a fully OFFENSIVE list, the idea being to get opponents in Rey's firing arc while keeping Jan at range 1-3 to enable you to roll an extra dice. Do it right and you'll target lock with Jan (after already building a stock of focus tokens) then hopefully strip focus/evade tokens from the target. Then Rey (who also target locked) will cut loose with her primary attack getting +1 dice from Jan, add a blank with Finn and reroll as many dice as necessary with Rey's ability or target lock and then expertise all focus results. The amount of times you roll 6 hits (at range one) is frightening!

Gitterstims and Countermeasers are there for when you're in a tight spot and/or stressed (stressbot can really hurt this list!). You'll roll an extra evade and have focus for offense and defence.

I got to the semis of a recent regional with this list. People were really caught of guard with the amount of damage it could put on a target, knocking out a turtled up defender in one turn of shooting in one match.
