Miranda and Gold

By Beautifulleif, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So, in an earlier list i asked for advice on Rey and Miranda list. No, after a few turns on Vassal I didnt feel to much for running this cut down Miranda. So I am trying to find another way to use Miranda.

I dont have Dash, so I did find a list with Y wings. They give damage, but is it enough? What would be the worst list to face with this one?

What I like with two Ys is that its simple, and I can both block and support Miranda with them.

Gold Squadron Pilot + Twin Laser Turret
Gold Squadron Pilot + Twin Laser Turret
Miranda Doni + Twin Laser Turret + Extra Munitions + Homing Missiles + Sabine Wren + Ion Bombs + Conner Net + Advanced SLAM

Do you have Poe?

There are a few older variations of Miranda/Poe and StressHog.

This is your build vs Parattani, can show you how to play and were the weakness is.

Ok. Maybe I just should just get me a Dash then?

But against other lists than Parattanni should it be quite strong with y wings to right? I have tried a couple of times on vassal, and it seems to be good against aces.

Yes, it's not a bad list. Also a lot depends on your meta. For example if you have a lot large ships with 1-2 agility, it might be great. If your meta is full of 3 evade dice ships and with AT, then TLT's start to lose effectiveness.

If you have good success with it, just play it more and see if you like it or need to change it.

Also vs Trip Defenders it might be struggle.

You should easy beat Dengaroo if you fly correct.

It should stand a fighting chance against Tri-Defenders. With no Auto-thrusters, massed TLTs stand a decent chance of burning through their token stacks provided you Focus on one ship at a time. A 5-dice homing missile from Miranda will definitely hurt them and so will dropping Sabine-powered bombs/nets in the path of their K-turns.

Not an easy fight perhaps but it has the tools.

So, there is a tournament on sunday. I have no time to practice. I have flown MIranda a lot earlier, so i know her.

I have also flown Y wings, but not Rey or Dash.

So, you people that are more experienced, what is the the best to pair up with Miranda, and easiest to actually be a little competetive?

Two Y-wings, Rey or Dash?

I say Y-Wings or Dash.

Dash is tricky if you fly for first time, but you can do great with it. But you need to stay at R2-R3 all the time, prefered R3.

Y-Wings in general are easier to fly with TLT, circle around and TLT.

Maybe run a stressbot on one Y wing for the mindlink lists?

If you used stressbot before yes. If its first time, maybe without title, just r3a2 for single stress, as with title y is hard to fly without practice:)

Mindlink lists dont care about stress, unless you can double-stress EVERY ship in a mindlink list. Envision this, you double-stress Manny so no actions for her next round. She moves and does nothing. Asajj does a green (plenty of greens on a Caster) and grabs a focus, passing one to both Fenn and Manaroo. Fenn does a green and already has a focus (mindlink), so is still free to reposition, helping out with a slightly limited dial or he can just grab a targetlock. Manny passes a focus to either Fenn or Asajj and grabs a focus back for herself with mindlink. So, a possible end scenario could be this:

Fenn: Target Lock (or reposition) + 2 focus

Asajj: Focus + Lattz

Manaroo: Focus

All your stress has done here is keep Asajj from grabbing an evade token, as well as making Fenn and Asajj do one green manuver, when they both have excelent dials for clearing stress. Keep in mind, your stresshog also stresses itself, leaving Asajj free to stress another one of your ships and therefor get Lattz against 2 of your ships, essentially making up for that evade token you denyed her.
