KENOBI: A Star Wars Story

By TitaniumChopstick, in X-Wing

Looks pretty awesome! I totally want this to be real and possibly find out about Rey being a Kenobi or something crazy (the theory I believe most)! I actually do rate Ewan as a decent actor, and would love to see him come back for a Kenobi spin-off covering the gap in his history between 3 and 4. What do you guys think?

That would be awesome and Ewan is good actor and is interested in doing that movie so lets hope :P

Jake Lloyd deserved it.

and why does everyone forget about those poor baby sand people? Dont Sand People count as...people? Oh that's right, telling a woman you single handedly slaughtered an entire village appearantly seals the deal romantically....

Edit; completely got the wrong idea there.

Hayden Christensen deserved it....... worst actor ever

I've not seen Rebels yet, so how much of Obi Wan's story has been revealed in that so far (if any)? I've only seen one video with an older Kenobi and Maul about to fight or something, so I'm hoping there is still a decent chunk of untold story left to make a proper Kenobi movie.

Rey is a Kenobi? Rey was born 11 years after Endor, which is 5 years after Obi-Wan was killed. So Rey was born 16 years after he died, unless there's some crazy long gestation period for their race or some kind of cloning and gender manipulation I would say it's not possible. But who knows what The Mouse will do.

maybe a granddaughter but I can wait to find out

I'm pretty sure the theory about Rey beeing a Kenobi sees her as his granddaughter.

Edit: Too slow

This is where I got the theory of Rey being a Kenobi from. Make of it what you will, but I thought it was pretty believable.

double edit: I finally figured out how to post pictures! :)

Er, please don't say that 'X actor deserves dismemberment, etc.' Did you not know that Jake Lloyd's life and mental health were completely ruined by bullying and fan criticism of his acting?

Edit: I couldn't find evidence to back up the 'fan criticism' part of this claim and the rest of it may have been hyperbolic. However, Jake Lloyd was bullied as a result of his role and I think it's high time people gave him a break. He was a kid.

Wouldn't that require him having a child of his own? Jedi aren't allowed to get married, which doesn't actually stop them from having children, but I'd assume if he had a child it would've been mentioned.

Who's to say his child won't be mentioned in episode 8 when Rey's parents are most likely revealed? Perhaps it was a secret plan by Yoda and Obi to re-populate the Jedi, in case Luke failed in his training or something. Thus, they never told anybody about Obi's child for fear of he/she being hunted down and killed.

I don't buy it. If Rey is a Kenobi, then I take serious issue with Force Ghost Ben not intervening in Rey's abandonment on Jakku.

Yes because the Jedi are clearly about breeding a new generation... The whole thing of avoiding attachments wouldn't possibly be an issue when dealing with someone's own child.

Unless they do something where samples are collected and are using some sort of artificial womb so the parents never even know they had children, then I don't buy that Rey is Obi's granddaughter.

Why can people simply not accept the simple answer that Rey doesn't have anything to do with the Skywalkers or Kenobi's and is just a gifted force user... Frankly if they tie her into one of the existing characters making or extending the dynasty it will make the story worse.

He probably wouldn't have talked to her directly since she was a small child, but can we be sure he wasn't intervening at all during the time she was on Jakku? Could've been the same situation he had with Luke, watching over him from a distance and doing other unknown activities (the need for a Kenobi spin-off) for 20 years, waiting until the right moment to actually comunicate with Luke.

She's Luke's step-niece (or something). Beru and Owen had a child that Obi-Wan took away. That child grew up and had Rey. Rey had Force powers at an early age, so she was dumped to avoid attracting interest from Snoke. Because she is the great-granddaughter of Shmi, she is still a Skywalker by blood.

[I'm just typing as the thoughts come to me. None of this idea has been planned in advance.]

Beru and Owen aren't related to Shmi at all. Shmi married Owen's father after Owen was mostly grown. Owen was Anakin's stepbrother.

Nevermind that there's not a snowball's chance in hell that Owen would give his child to Obi-wan for no reason.

Neither Owen or Beru were related to Shmi. Owen was Lars son from previous marriage.
