Is Forum Authentication Completely Borked For Anyone Else?

By Guest, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

Yeah, so... anybody else completely unable to log into the forums now?

First, this morning, I was getting a "that account does not exist" error. Okay, maybe the backend user database was still copying over or something.

But now, since this afternoon, I can't get to the forums at all unless I'm not logged in. I can read them anonymously, but when I click log in it redirects to the Asmodee site to authenticate. Which would be fine, except after I authenticate there, it immediately redirects me to the useless Asmodee profile page with no useful links in it. Every time I try to come to a page under the community.fantasyflightgames.com domain after authenticating, I redirect back to the Asmodee profile page.

I've tried four separate OS's (Linux, Android, Win7, Win10) in three different locations, with IE, Edge, Firefox, Chrome, and Chromium on each as applicable, and no joy on any. I've also purged browser cache/cleared temporary internet files and cookies, and it's 100% repeatable on all of these platforms.

Apparently, though, I'm the only one having these problems, because everybody else seems to be carrying on as though nothing had happened.

Anybody else run into this and have a workaround? In case anyone else is reading this but also can't authenticate, I created a thread on Reddit about this earlier.

In other news, looks like you can post anonymously now...? Weird.

I swear I just made two posts which have disappeared when I inadvertently did them 'anonymously'.

Woo, they fixed it!

For posterity: This appears to be indicative of an un-validated account. In my case, when they transferred my account, it somehow got incorrectly marked as not validated, but because it was transferred rather than created direct at Asmodee, it also didn't trigger the account validation email.

If anyone else is having this issue, contact Asmodee for help. They have pretty quick turnaround during business hours, and can manually trigger the validation email.

Dang. I was worried about you. Glad you made it through...

I had to change my password because I wasn't me, but once the me who wasn't me got an email for the me who's not me to change my password, then the me who was not me but is me was able to be me again on the forums.

Haven't had any problems since though.

If I'm not me, who the hell am I? :D
