Tractor beams and hyperspace

Is it possible to take a ship you've latched on to with a tractor beam into hyperspace when your own ship jumps? Are there any canon examples of towing vessels through hyperspace in the new canon?

I haven't seen the use of tractor beams in hyperspace, but in the "Rebels" episode Wings of the Master (Season 2 Episode 7), they connect, through some method of linking the hulls, a B-wing without a hyper-drive to the phantom (which had one at that point), and go through hyper-space to another planet.

Physically connected vessels don't count. Many Imperial vessel classes carry TIEs via docking clamps. I was wondering if any of the Rebels episodes or new canon books (including all the new-canon YA stuff I haven't read) might have an example of tractor beam towing through hyperspace. Hell, I'll even settle for a Legends example.

I can't cite a specific example but I think, I think mind you, I can remember an instance in a Legends novel where the towed vehicle had no engine thrust (the engines were disabled) but still had a functional hyperdrive that had to be slaved to the ship that was towing it. This was one of the ways that hyperdrive in Star Wars was different than warp drive in Star Trek. In Star Trek they can tractor a disabled ship and extend the warp field around both vessels for FTL travel. My memory is spotty and I am currently looking for the reference. All in all, it seems to make sense that both ships would need to be physically attached to each other or the towed ship needs a functional hyperdrive in order to travel in hyperspace together.

I think you're right, because the instant a ship, for example a starfighter, exits a carrier traveling in hyperspace that fighter drops back into normal space. And since a tractor beam isn't a physical connection, you can't drag another ship with you. Makes piracy harder. I imagine that even a tow cable wouldn't work.

I think it depends on the ship. A capital ship could probably tow a smaller cargo ship with them using tractor beams, but not the other way around.

There are also the always present "experimental" weapons that your crew could find......
