High post rate pbp/pbf, interested?

By TheShard, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I'm going to assume 15 Obligation (which I'll then pump to to 30 to get 5xp and 2500 additional credits) and leave out the Duty, to try to make things easier on the GM :)

So here is the bare bones of Nir Dah'roh . A member of the Bothan Spy Net, he is a charming negotiator who will happily deceive you for his own personal gain. A decent pilot, and naturally cool. But it's his experience on the street and in the underworld where he excels, developing contacts within the Rebels, the empire and the underworld.

I like it! I'll follow suit: http://swsheets.com/c/kdu02a0s4-gerst-sabel

Gerst Sabel is a former Imperial Commando, sniper specialization. His record of loyal service came to an end when an operation in his home town led to his Niece being killed by his fellow teammates. The exact circumstances are not something he likes to talk about (aka go nuts GM) nor is it known how many of his teammates survived the immediate aftermath. All the Alliance knows is that they were contacted by a former Imperial sniper with nothing but the clothes on his back and rifles slung over his shoulder, offering his services. Being considered an intelligence risk, he was grouped together with a bunch of other misfits and ne'er-do-wells, where his loyalty will be put to the test...

His main purpose is obviously combat with a focus on ranged (heavy), but he also has some melee skill (he'll pick up a knife at some point) and skill in Coercion if we need a heavy.

Regarding time period, anytime near or during the OT sounds good to me. Post-Yavin would probably get my vote, but pre-Yavin would be fine as well.

Side topic, anyone draw/Photoshop?

I'd like to have a visual idea of the team and maybe of our epic moments.

I'm decent so I'll do it myself but if there is real talent out there... I'd leave it to the professionals.

Hah! Not me! Unless you want stick figures...

Yeah.... nah! Stick figures here too ?

As I said before I used my 15 duty to get 10xp and 1,000 credits. I think that around ESB (before or after) would be a good time-frame if we go with the ship-jacking story line, otherwise I don't really have any preference. Also I can't draw very well, especially humans (and other bipeds).

Here's Echozn or "Echo"

http://swsheets.com/c/uopntcgce-echozn--echo-

Echozn or “Echo” is a mid-level member of a clovoc, whose specialty is infiltration and stealth strikes. Following the Battle of Yavin, Echozn’s clovoc joined the Rebellion, and was sent to a single Rebel cell. After roughly 9 standard months of conducting missions with that cell, it came under heavy Imperial attack. The Alliance high command thought that the entire cell was lost. As it turned out the clovoc members were able to help, by moving in small groups, the cell leaders and as many personnel as possible escape the destruction of the cell. In addition they were able to extract some of the valuable equipment and data.

Following that withdraw, the clovoc was separated and sent to various rebel cells and associated groups to either train them in stealth and infiltration, or providing assistance/guidance to existing infiltration groups. Echozn now acts as a liaison for the Alliance to groups centered around stealth operations.

Where are you getting the kyuzo stats?

Forged in Battle I think.

That explains it, don't have that one. I'll go hunting

Richard beat me too it, yeah Forged in Battle is the one.

Does anyone else have ideas about what are ship should be? Most of the freighters, that are sil. 4 in the AoR books cost 250,000 credits or more. The cheapest I've found so far is the Darvro at 250,000 but it's restricted and rarity 9.

For a ship, let me suggest the YT-2000. Costs 120k credits, has 5 hardpoints for customization, starts with 2 twin laser cannon turrets on the top and bottom. Lots of room for improvement and customization while not being absolute pants to start with.

Edit: we could also go full Rendar and take the YT-2400, if 150k is the upper limit (it's 130k). It's nearly the exact same stats, but with an extra armor point.

So I'm guessing everyone wants Silhouette 4? No hanger bays? There are quite a few in the 150k range, Desperate Allies and savage spirits have some.

Personally I like a Silhouette 5 tank of a ship with a couple of small craft inside, swoops, speeders and maybe a star fighter for one of our gun bunnies. (Obviously we need to "Aquire" those small vehicles ?)

Vcx-100 light freighter is an option at 155000

Simiyiar light freighter at 165000

Loronar e-9 at 120000

Those are sil 4 suggestions

Pitch your idea about a hanger sized ship

What would your ship jacking vessel of choice be? Obviously it needs ion cannons.

Squadron of Silhouette 3:

2 seater Y-Wings!!! We have 3 characters with either an Agility 4 or 3, some with Piloting as a skill. We could totally pull it off. Really need a mechanic though if this ends up as our choice. Rogue Squadron ftw.

Silhouette 4

Kappa Class (DA p63), 110k Restricted rarity 5. Tough with Armour 4 but slow at speed 3. Can carry a lot at enc 250 or 40 passengers. It's also able to hold 2 Silhouette 2 ground vehicles. It has a twin Heavy Blaster Cannon and two auto blasters. A decent ship for a strike team that wants to try bluffing their way into places.

YT-2400. Bigger guns, better handling, and more armour than it's 1300 brethren. Also less conspicuous than the Kappa.

ILH-KK citadel light freighter. Tough with a decent capacity to carry people and gear. Expensive at 200k but has a huge load out of weapons, perhaps the GM could deactivate some until we fix them to reduce the threat level of the ship.

MC-18 light freighter. 140k/6 It's going to be hunted by the imperials for being mon cal, but its got a good handling of 0, speed 3, decent encumbrance at 150 of 7 crew. Fast hyperdrive of class 1. With only 2 hard points it won't improve much, but it gets a free 1 HP attachment that doesn't count towards the total HP. A single turret means it doesn't hit as hard as the 2400, but still a nice ship.

Silhouette 5

VCX-100. I know most think it should be silhouette 4, but in this instance it's handy for putting an actual hanger bay in to rapid launch strike teams out of. 2 solid turrets and 5 hard points is also awesome, handles like a dog though which makes me think Nir may need to pick up Pilot before to long (Driver too!)

Wayfarer. It's the unsung hero of Edge. It's tough, speed 3 (better than most freighters), huge with 850enc, has a decent gun with a dorsal quad laser Cannon, it just needs a turret mounted ion Cannon and those hanger bays to be a serious platform. It's almost the VCX but not quite!

So my first first preference is the Silhouette 5 version of the VCX, then perhaps the 2400 or the ILH-KK with a couple of weapons removed.

Ok let's take a break on the ship discussion and role call. Gm wanted a final head count.

Andi think GM, it's your call on time period as long as it's after the battle of yavin.

I'll go first

I'm playing Shard... Mechanic and slicer extraordiner.

I'm playing Nir, charming negotiator who knows their way around the underworld. Not a bad pilot either.

I'm playing Echozn (or Echo), a Rebellion scout acting as a liaison. Quite good at infiltration and observation.

I am playing Jaren Tachi,a Chagrian Commander of some sort/ the Hannibal of the group. Hey guys if we need a pilot i can go squadron leader for my first spec.

If you do go Squadron Leader I really think we should consider the Y-Wings. With 4 potential pilots or gunners and an expert Mechanic/Computers guy it could be a whole lot of fun. There is a huge variety of missions we can run, from ground attack, general star fighter missions, sneaking in and landing missions (to sabotage etc).

of course with the team we have we can run a Pilot, Co-Pilot, 2 Gunners and a Mechanic in a larger ship too, so we need to decide how much we want to be able to transport and how much modification our ship is getting.

The other idea I had was that the Rebels simply supply the vehicle we require for the mission they are sending us on. Perhaps home is a small rebel fleet which we strike out from.

are we missing one?

Ben is also playing - Gerst Sabel is a former Imperial Commando, sniper specialization

So thats the five, if YT-RP wants to be an alternate, as pbp's sometimes have drop off... or maybe he can be a reoccurring guest?

I like the idea of a freighter and a fighter!

I also really like the idea that we don't have our own ship at first, and just got assigned one... at least until we steal the right one to our liking that we want to keep.

That and maybe we should just go steal a yv-666 as soon as they release the stats to make it available!

It can get modified to carry a z-95, has 3 small decks enough room to modify

Y's might be a fun place to start though... and if they ever release rules for making ugglies, it would be fun to jack these y's into bizarre mix matches, i could see a small freighter with the y's engines attached, or strapping them on to the back of a z-95.

Y-wings would be an interesting starting point, it would also let each Y-wing have an astromech, which could be interesting recurring NPC's.

Is there a upgrade (or GM ruling) that increases passenger capacity? If there is, then if we went with the silhouette 5 option we could pick up a BTS-A2 "H-wing" (from Stay on Target) at some point, if we can increase how many it can carry by one it could carry the whole team, while still being silhouette 3. So it could dock with our other ship. Plus it has a twin light ion cannon.

But I'm fine with whatever option we decide on.

I could do that. Remember, the A-Team was constantly having to break Murdock out of different asylums and other hospitals where he was receiving his care. It would be interesting for that to be a recurring theme for Y8.
