CC campaign - can a player decline a match and accept defeat?

Yes that would help. But alas, FFG is amazing at providing guidance.

I do often find myself amazed at the guidance they provide.

I believe the straightforward incorporation of all appropriate rules guides would go:

0. When playing for fun, do whatever you want, including ignoring all rules and making rocket ship noises.

1. The Rules Reference Guide is the rules of the game of Armada and is used throughout any game.

2. The Tournament Regs apply to Organized Play events, period. Nothing in there is considered binding for games elsewhere, including the Corellian Conflict. Act like it doesn't exist when you're playing campaign. The exception is that we often use the Tournament rules in casual games because, until the CC popularized a second format of play, we all treated the game like OP was the one true game.

3. The Corellian Conflict has some rules that apply generally to all games, such as dust fields. These are notes in the text as new rules. The rest of the CC is for campaign play only, and should be treated as non-existent in other formats.

4. Rules inserts like flotillas and contain apply generally.
