More than likely hes right. even in a single day we've noticed a couple changes (the like system came back to the way it was instead of "x number of people liked this!" bullcrap for instance).
Also im hoping the custom avatar thing was taken away because of a bug, and im one of the few that changed it before they took the button away. Otherwise im probably gonna log in one day and see my avatar is blank >.<
