Backdraft and Accuracy Corrector

By Jugdishian, in X-Wing Rules Questions

MY question is about having the Tie SF Pilot Backdraft equiped with accuracy corrector. So Backdrafts Pilot Card Reads "When attacking a ship inside your auxilary firing arc, you may ADD 1 Critical result". Backdraft rolls 2 red dice when attacking out of the rear arc so I am assuming that I can roll 2 attack dice and no matter the result, cancel those results and add 2 hits. After this is done then based on backdraft's ability I can then add 1 critical result. So essentially when back draft is shooting out of the rear arc you are guaranteed a minimum of 2 hits and 1 crit.

Is this correct ? I am assuming so because adding a critical after you change your dice results with accuracy corrector is not a modification because adding dice is not the same as modifying dice.

Your thoughts please.

Die modifications are:

Adding results

Changing results

Rerolling dice.

This is not a combo, it doesn't work.

Yeah, per Rules Reference p13 "Modifying Dice", adding dice results to your pool is a kind of dice modification. (Adding dice before you roll is not, which may have been what you were thinking of.)

So either you AC first and are then prohibited from using Backdraft's ability because it's a modification and AC prevents you from further modifications, or you Backdraft first and then AC cancels Backdraft's [kaboom] along with whatever else you rolled.

Backdraft adds a critical result , not a die. You use a die with a critical result showing to do this, but it's adding a result, and that's a dice modification. As thespaceinvader stated, it's not a combo that works.
