Hi fellow pilots,
I will play an Escalation game (60-90-120 pts, maybe a 150 final game if we get enough time) this week with a friend.
As I just bought a U-wing, of course, I want that ship to be part of the starting 60 pts ![]()
I had the idea of getting an Operation specialist on the U-wing, and put it not far from some Y-wings with title (at least, one Ywing for the first match) to give them some focuses to shoot the TLT after that nearly unavoidable miss with the primary.
Then came the second idea : why not FCS + Gunner, so that with the Op Spec, the U-wing's second attack comes with TL+focus ?
For my starting list, I get something like this :
- Blue Squadron Pathfinder, Title, FCS, Op Spec, Gunner (33)
- Good old Stresshog with TLT, R3A2 (26)
for a total of 59pts.
But now I fear 33ts is too much for that Blue Pathfinder, and maybe the thing will just explode really fast, being the main threat in my list. Or maybe it's just gonna be okay, if I follow up with Biggs for the 90pts list (the U-wing becoming a focus source for Biggs defense if needed)?
What do you think? Do you have some other nice use for the U-wing (specifically for an Escalation match)?
Edit : I want my list to fit in a believable Timeline, restricted to the Original Trilogy.
I own both YTs, 6 T65 Xs, 5 Zs, 4 Ys, 4 As, 4 Bs and one HWK for that timeline; we are playing between friends, so no upgrade cards restriction since we use printed squad lists.
Rebel Escalation
Im a Heff fan, so here it is:
Heff Tobber (24)
"Zeb" Orrelios (1)
Tactical Jammer (1)
Pivot Wing (0)
Rebel Operative (16)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Chopper (0)
Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)
Total: 60
Heff provides cover for the TLT HWK and bandit, and anyone who bump him gets a full mod range 1 shot. Three ships, not bad.

Heff Tobber (24)
Enhanced Scopes (1)
"Zeb" Orrelios (1)
Operation Spec (3)
Tactical Jammer (1)
Pivot Wing (0)
Rebel Operative (16)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Chopper (0)
Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)
Biggs Darklighter (25)
R4-D6 (1)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Total: 90
Biggs gets added, now Heff can bump people and they shoot at Biggs, not Heff, while he shoots at them. Op Spec is now added. Let the bandits puny attack give your TLT another focus. Heff gets enhanced scopes to make squad movement A LOT easier, since he is point-man.

Stresshog gets added. You now have plenty of ships to capitalize on op spec, and even the bandit gets a concussion missile. He can TL, and op spec tosses him a focus. Five ships, multiple attacks. Stresshog and TLT are mostly safe until Biggs is dropped. Dont try and keep everyone protected by Biggs, just keep each one within one round of movement to try and split enemy fire.
