Rieekan's Bread & Butter Pickles. Any advice appreciated.

By Yellow 5, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Trying my hand at something a little different than I've been doing. I've always wanted to do a double mc80 fleet, but the massive amount of squadrons I usually face and it be easier to counter with more squadrons has kept me from trying such a low squad/low activation build. I'm looking for any constructive feedback I can get. I haven't put this on the table yet, but hope to soon.

Simply put my idea would be to be second player to play my objectives. The hope being that with station assault and contested outpost that I can favorably deploy so they either have to come at me and get tag teamed by tons of MC80 dice or in the case of Solar Corona, at least give me some positioning advantage and potentially make the hopefully already upgraded to be tough-as-nails to take down, even tougher to the point that they do more damage before any of them fall if they fall at all. My hope with the fighters is that they provide enough of a screen and flexibility that I can mitigate the threat of rhymer and rebel bombers. Thanks in advance for any feedback, and MTFBWY.

[ flagship ] MC80 Assault Cruiser (114 points)
- General Rieekan ( 30 points)
- Home One ( 7 points)
- Damage Control Officer ( 5 points)
- Projection Experts ( 6 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)
- Reinforced Blast Doors ( 5 points)
- H9 Turbolasers ( 8 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 186 total ship cost

MC80 Assault Cruiser (114 points)
- Defiance ( 5 points)
- Damage Control Officer ( 5 points)
- Projection Experts ( 6 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)
- Reinforced Blast Doors ( 5 points)
- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 152 total ship cost

1 Tycho Celchu ( 16 points)
1 Shara Bey ( 17 points)
1 Rogue Squadron ( 14 points)
1 Green Squadron ( 12 points)

When I was new, I was told that two activation list weren't a good strategy. Still however, I use a dual MC80 list with one Liberty and one Assault crusier, the change I made however is that I threw in a cheap rebel transport to put my general on. With that, I put bright hope on the transport. The rest of points I spent on fighters. So I would highly recommend throwing in a cheap activation just to have more activation's.

Taking out home one and upgrading to engine techs is a start. You only benefit from home one with 1 ship. It's not worth the 7 points. And with only 2 activations, Defiance is also pretty extraneous. So you could either put those 12 points towards getting a flotilla for a cheap activation (with Leia!) or use it for a bid to go first. But get engine techs instead of PEs on there. You have few enough shields that spreading them out won't matter too much, and those engineering commands would be better suited to serving the ship it's on.
