Regionals Data

By shmitty, in Star Wars: Armada

With help from lots of forum members around the world I collect the results from Armada Regional Tournaments and post the data on a spreadsheet for everyone to use.

The data is useful for lots of arguments, but is collected to answer the following question: Is there a difference in fleet composition between all of the fleets at a regional tournament and those at the top tables? For that reason I tend to find comparisons between the 'All' and 'Top 4' columns to be the most interesting.

  • Wave 2 Regionals - (Spring 2016) - LINK

  • Wave 3 & 4 Regionals - (11/16 - 12/16) - LINK

  • Wave 5 Regionals - (1/17 - 2/17) - LINK

  • Comparison of how the results change each season - LINK

Thanks to all who help collect the data.

The Waves 3, 4, and 5 Regionals are all part of the same season, but the release of Wave 5 mid-season made it interesting to split them. When Wave 5 is finished I will combine the data in another sheet.

I still need to add a little more info from Houston to the Wave 3/4 sheet and have a couple of tournaments to get into Wave 5. That should get done this week.

Thanks for doing this. especially the wave 5 break out. I think this information will be very helpful come worlds and what the metas are becoming by then.

Shmitty, I ran the Wayne Regional on 1/5. What do you need from me? I still have all standings and fleets (most of them at least)

Really? That would be great. Final standings and as many of the fleet lists as you have. The fleet lists can be typed up or you can take pictures of them and e-mail them to me. Whatever is easiest on your end.

Thanks!

Sorry, I meant 1/7. Ok, I have 23 of the lists. Not sure where the other two are. I'm gonna scan them in and email them to you. PM me your email address.

Thanks,

Data for Wayne, MI added to the Wave 5 spreadsheet.

Boston added to Wave 5 data.

Some really fun fleets in that one. Loved seeing the variety.

It's really amazing that you all put this together and share it. Thank you very much for that.

I'm curious about something. Maybe I don't know how to read the data right. For blue objectives, winners column, it only has one objective listed at 50%. Everyone's lists had to have a blue objective.. so what did the other half have? Is there missing data? Same goes for yellow objectives as well.

Oh that?

I need to update the formulas that count objective use with the Corellian Conflict objectives. Which is now on my to-do list.

Ahh, ok. Since the objectives were listed in one of the other tabs, I wasn't sure if I was misunderstanding what the data meant ;)

Thanks again Shmitty.

And now the Objective usage should calculate correctly on the Objectives tab.

Solar Corona is already really popular.

A picture of Valencia Regionals, Spain :)

Awesome, thanks for sharing. Do you have the results?

Murray, UT is now in the Wave 5 data.

Sorry, got no data from Valencia.

Tracked down some data that had slipped by me while busy with real-life.

  • Winner of Houston Regional added to the Wave 3&4 Data
  • Winner of the FFG Regional added to the Wave 5 data

If you attended either of those tournaments and could post your fleet list it would be appreciated. Going to work on the Waterloo, UK Fleets today.

Also, take a look at the Squadrons tab. Baltanok has been doing some great work with that. The analysis is on the far right of the sheet.

I've got the Top 3 + some others in for the Waterloo, UK tournament. Always great to have data from outside the US. I'm hoping a few more lists will trickle in from that tournament.

Madine is the first Wave 3+ Admiral to win a regional tournament that we have data for. And so far all 6 Wave 5 tournaments have been won by different admirals! Very cool.

The Dutch Regional (one of two) was won by Jeppe (a Danish dude who also won the Dutch Nationals)

His list:

Raider-I Class Corvette (44 points)
- Instigator ( 4 points)
- Agent Kallus ( 3 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Quad Laser Turrets ( 5 points)
- Flechette Torpedoes ( 3 points)
= 63 total ship cost

Gladiator II-Class Star Destroyer (62 points)
- Demolisher ( 10 points)
- Admiral Montferrat ( 5 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Engine Techs ( 8 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)
= 94 total ship cost

Gozanti-class Assault Carriers (28 points)
- Suppressor ( 4 points)
- Flight Commander ( 3 points)
- Bomber Command Center ( 8 points)
= 43 total ship cost

[ flagship ] Gozanti-class Assault Carriers (28 points)
- Admiral Ozzel ( 20 points)
- Vector ( 2 points)
- Flight Commander ( 3 points)
- Bomber Command Center ( 8 points)
= 61 total ship cost

1 Dengar ( 20 points)
1 Colonel Jendon ( 20 points)
1 Ciena Ree ( 17 points)
1 Tempest Squadron ( 13 points)
1 Major Rhymer ( 16 points)
2 Firespray-31s ( 36 points)

393/400

Thanks!

Sato has not been doing well in regionals so far. I guess people are still figuring him out.

Yep, My competition for last place in the last game was another Sato list.

I'll see if i can get more from the TO

Sato's Potatoes

Faction: Rebel Alliance
Points: 398/400

Commander: Commander Sato

Assault Objective: Opening Salvo (not sure why i took this i meant to take advanced gunnery!)
Defense Objective: Planetary Ion Cannon
Navigation Objective: Salvage Run

MC80 Star Cruiser (96 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Fighter Coordination Team ( 3 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 110 total ship cost

[ flagship ] Assault Frigate Mark II B (72 points)
- Commander Sato ( 32 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Reinforced Blast Doors ( 5 points)
= 116 total ship cost

Assault Frigate Mark II A (81 points)
- Paragon ( 5 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
= 90 total ship cost

2 A-Wing Squadrons ( 22 points)
1 VCX-100 Freighter ( 15 points)
1 HWK-290 ( 12 points)
1 Shara Bey ( 17 points)
1 Tycho Celchu ( 16 points)

I underestimated the amount of enemy fighters there would be the meta has deffintley more. Also 3 ship builds are very much in the past.

As you can see it was fairly small 10 players.

The plan for sato's potatoes was to do the a sort of o ii o formation with two assault spuds covering the weak flanks. Didnt work as i lost all plan of attack in the heat of battle!

Thanks again for telling us about it, great picture too. Would love to see the other fleet lists.

That space is really cool.

It's in an old cloister vault off the historical canals in Utrecht. Games nights Monday nights down there as well.
