Sorry, I'll stop now. :)

No, I won't let you!

Luke never saw Vader’s RAW power. There is no way to spin this as prequel bashing.

Vader had been a trained Sith for nearly two decades when Luke saw him. There is nothing raw about that...

The ST has done a commendable job pretending the prequels didn't come along and alter Star Wars in a fundamentally awful way. I chose to believe it is. :P

EDIT: Also, he wasn't scared of Vader ever, so...

Episode 7 mentions and nods to the prequels multiple times. It might not be obvious to everyone yet it is there in the way hux and ren talk about "clone armies" or how Phasma's armour is constructed from Palpatine's Naboo space ship.

Besides the PT is now over 70 years and a full galaxy wide war ago. Let's be real, how often does the fist world war come up in our lives?

Also; Not quite sure what your edit is about. What is it you are trying to convey with the "so..."?

I don't know about you, but I engage in the fist world war all the time. You should see me when I've had a drink or two. . . .

Wait - I have a better pop culture Fist World War reference:

Pretty much everyday since the seeds for the chaos that is the middle east were laid in the various treaties that ended WW1 in that region.

Right, and the exact same thing could be said for the chaos in the ST. Case closed, let's move on.

Very well. . . .

That will become a ringtone.

I have foreseen it.

Would it help them make more money from the franchise?

While I agree tying in Rebels would be better for a more cohesive world and story, bringing in a whole lot of characters most cinema-goers have never heard of and acting like they're big parts of the world is going to turn a lot of people off, which is awful for Disney's bottom line.

Hence why Ben Kenobi was such a flop....;)

Now of course it's clear they have no idea what they're doing.

I actually liked the trailer for TFA better simply because it felt like a legitimate improvement.

Same. I liked the TFA trailer, felt a bit let down by the story line they chose to go with, but overall liked the characters. I just wish they were in a different plot.

And yeah, with the debacle going down over the Han Solo movie, I have a bad feeling about this.

True, I'm just not into the "cute" side of Star Wars.

By the way, you would have HATED Disneyland. Porgs were EVERYwhere!

This last trailer was a total mislead and heavily edited. I would not judge anything off of it.

I can understand why Hamil didn't like the take on Luke however. Luke appears to be going dark or at least grey.

I was just at Magic Kingdom at Disney World and they had plenty of Porgs at the Star Wars shop.

By the way anyone up for some Pulled Porg Sandwiches or Tacos?

Yikes, Disney is really f'ing over theaters with E8. The TL;DNR breakdown:

* Disney is insisting on a 65 percent share of ticket-sales revenue, up from a standard 55 percent asked by most Hollywood studios

* Disney is requiring theaters to reserve at least four weeks in the largest auditorium available exclusively for The Last Jedi screenings.

* If a theater violates any of the above terms? Disney reserves the right to charge an additional five percent of ticket sales revenue as penalty for the violation. This includes if the theater cancels even one screening of the film without Disney’s consent.

Yes. (Here it comes.) From a Certain Point of View. (TM)

Exactly. ;)

Oh my gosh!

THIS kind of thing is one of the reasons that I was so un-excited about the Disney buy of Star Wars. A mega-company throwing around its weight because it can. That is outrageous!

It is too bad, but I'd probably be more sympathetic if I wasn't already charged a mortgage payment for popcorn and soda....

It's due to those onerous demands that studios place on theaters that we have to pay 10 dollars for 5 cents of popcorn kernels and butter flavored oil. I'm not sure of the percentage breakdown - it favors the studios less and the theaters more as the weeks roll by - but theaters barely make any money on movies for the first 3 or 4 weeks. I've been straight out told by theater managers that they give not a single F if I buy one ticket and theater hop all day long, as long as I buy popcorn between shows.

EDIT - Found a more detailed source: https://www.gsb.stanford.edu/insights/why-does-movie-popcorn-cost-so-much

And if not for the big budget movies cinema would have disappeared as the antiquated media content delivery means that it is and none of the theater chains would exist.

All that has to happen is for cinema chains to say "No, I don't want to pay you that much Disney to show Star Wars" and for you and me and a 100 million of our friends to say "No Disney, we won't pay you to see Star Wars because you're so mean to theater chains."

Except we know neither of those is going to ever happen so I don't get my knickers knotted up over all of it because it's all part of a free market and that's life.

It's like getting mad at a rain cloud, all you end up is mad and you still get wet...

In that last scene I wonder if Luke is talking to Kylo Ren, when he says "This is not going to go the way you think." Since they keep trying to imply that Rey is going to "join" Kylo I'm convinced that it doesn't happen.

Remember all the posters and a few of the trailers for Episode VII implied that Finn was the Jedi/Forces-user?
