Star War: The Last Jedi

I'm not really a fan of the placement of stars in the background. This has ruined the movie for me TBH.

The font is red! It's the same, but different!

I think Disney is going to keep Star Wars PG-13 for now. Man it'll be the day when they release a Star Wars Rated R movie.

PLEASE NO R-Rated Star Wars. It being a family friendly film is part of what makes it so awesome.!

i imagine its referring to both Luke and Rey. Jedi isnt a singular term, its both singular and plural.

Killing Luke kinda makes no sense (then again Han's death didnt make any sense either plotwise) and we know Rey wont die since shes the new main character.

Ya know, this was actually covered in the Episode VII opening crawl.

Luke Skywalker has vanished. In his absence, the sinister First Order has risen from the ashes of the Empire and will not rest until Skywalker, the last Jedi, has been destroyed.

...soooo...there isn't exactly any question who/what The Last Jedi is. It's Luke. That's what this team said in the opening for Episode VII. "Mystery" solved.

The Force Gets Busy (A Star Wars Story)

On the serious side, Disney owns Marvel and they finally released a Rated R movie in Deadpool. I think the new Logan movie might be R based on an article I read on Yahoo. I wouldn't be surprised in a few years if a Rated R Star Wars movie were released. Star Wars has already broken in the PG-13 with Revenge of the Sith and the last 2 movies Disney released.

Why would StarWars ever go R?

Its never had vulgar language or humor (any implied humor of that nature was simply up to interpretation)

Excessive gore makes no sense considering the main thing that causes bodily harm also cauterizes the wound (energy blasters and lightsabers) so it doesnt bleed like you just got stabbed.

Sex scenes are lazy-writers way of getting attention, Starwars doesnt need that.

Hell the primary reason they made Deadpool rated R instead of PG-13 was so they could drop the F-bomb over and over again since thats sorta in line with Deadpool's character. I cant recall any starwars character saying anything remotely as bad as the F-bomb.

"Deadpool is rated R by the MPAA for strong violence and language throughout, sexual content and graphic nudity. Violence: - Frequent explicit violence, with realistic detail, blood and tissue damage."

'Meesa Jar Jar Binks' was a pretty fowl and raunchy line.

Fair Point, Jar Jar needs his own unique rating.

I still prefer

Star Wars Episode VIII: Luke Who's Back

As the title myself.

If Ezra doesn't meet Kenobi in the Rebels show(or if he doesn't know Ezra is training under a Jedi), then I would think Yoda is referring to Bridger. Seems like Yoda is telling Obiwan some new info, that the "another" isn't Leia.

So... undermine the entire original trilogy's story of family by shoehorning in a character created for a TV series 40 years later?

Sounds status quo for the Star Wars IP.

Each title has done a great job telling a story of the movie and how it fits into the greater saga. Even though Attack of the Clones is the runt of titles, it worked.

The Last Jedi is perfect. Going into a movie, unknowing of what can happen, this title allows the imagination to run. Is this "The Last Jedi" Luke? Luke goes to ghost mode and therofore Rey? Is this Rey and Luke as in plural Jedi? Is this the end of the Jedi, or do the Last Jedi create a new order?

So many questions, so much excitement.

Agree with what some have already said, I think the title is intentionally left open for interpretation, that is certainly helping to build anticipation .

You said it pretty good. Most of these are like vague operatic or pulp titles - the precursor to the modern clickbait. You see this on a cheap book in front of a shop, or as you walk by the movie theater you think "Man, I want to see what The Phantom Menace is!" (and then you might be dissapointed). AotC is the weak one of the bunch because as people have said it sounds more like a cheap sy-fi saturday movie than a space epic, but it still works.

Both Deadpool and Logan are distributed by Fox. The rights are there instead of with marvel studios and by proxy Disney. So they have no say in what happens with them.

No way Disney will release an R rated movie under either Marvel or Star Wars and that's not a bad thing

ME TOO ME TOO... TIME TO JUMP IN A BLACK HOLE TO ESCAPE THIS HORRIBLES PAIN!

YEE-AHHhhh...uhh... yow!!!

 Ghostly_Skull.gif:angry:

What's in a name anyways?

Remember guys. Jedi does not mean singular. It can mean multiple.

Rey and Luke can both be the last Jedi.

The red print of the Star Wars and the ominous harbinger of the "last" Jedi are certainly intriguing (even Jedi can be plural). Pretty exciting though, interested to see what happens next. This actually gives me a thought, would been a great Cubanboy Happy Friday topic, to guess a name for the upcoming STARWARS movie.

Amusing little (most likely unintentional) detail: "The force awakens the last jedi."

I happen to think that we see the end of the Light and Dark sides of the force. The prophecy of the one who will bring balance isn't about equalising numbers of Jedi / Sith or making one stronger than the other, rather an individual who will master both light and dark. I believe Rey will fill this role. She will be able to utilise the force through a full gamut of emotions.

Rey will be the 'chosen one' from prophecy and the balance of light and dark understanding will be realised.

That happened already... Anakin/Vader...

Nahhhh, Anakin kinda turned full bad guy and then boomeranged back.

I'm proposing that Rey will eventually be both Yoda and Palpatine in her force abilities. Be able to summon lightning whilst still being at peace. She won't adhere to a code, she'll create her own. Luke will teach her the lighter side, Kylo will show her the dark and she will need both simultaneously to defeat whatever threat presents itself.

Anakin was the chosen one, prophecy was fullfilled when he killed palpatine and brought balance of the force back.

And Yoda wasn't talking about ezra.

Stop changing OT with stuff that was made decades later ;_;

Was there a prophecy in the OT? I don't think so.
