Agreed Biggs, sorry for sidetrack...of sorts. I'm just concerned in a world full of delicate feelings that 1 negative interaction on these forums will drive people away. It's hard enough to find games in my region, I don't want to lose the prospect of more opportunities to play.
Again, my apologies. I'm done.
Let's Talk About Criticism of Armada (META / COMMUNITY DISCUSSION - No Specific Critiques)
I'm also not chasing anyone out, though I would caution against contributing to negativity, even to pull people off other targets. We don't want to fight fire with fire here. I am actually a fireman, and unless you are doing this in controlled burn settings, it doesn't work. Especially not in houses. And this is - in the metaphor - a house.
So hang around, keep the chat up. In real life and online we are all primarily good, decent people. It shows through all the time, and we're just trying to make sure we not only live up to this well deserved reputation, but improve upon it.
I spent 6 years in the infantry, returning fire is just reacting to contact and par for the course. I get what you're saying, though.

I'll admit I always enjoyed ripping cars apart better than flowing water. How to make that into a metaphor though...
Edited by BiggsIRLHah, indeed....I feel like there's a jaws of life reference here but it's hard to work it in to something positive lol
Something something rip apart.... something something.... patient centric?
Okay! Criticism is patient centric! You don't want to hurt anyone (more than they already are) but you need to get the patient (core critiicism? game itself?) out of the wreckage that it has turned into. That requires powerful tools, but not tools that work alone.
While you pry and cut, you need to stabilize the wreckage. Crib the sides of the vehicle to keep it from moving side to side, or up and down. Focus on what is important to get out, and don't just cut before you know what you are cutting away and why. Don't be afraid to put down the big tools (actually, never put down the big tools or the guy behind you will take them and run off with them) and use small hand tools to dismantle small problems in your way. It's all about getting the patient out in one piece, and to definitive medical care.

Actually, he is. And he isn't.
If I am understood to be asking "What color does that grass look to you," then he is correct.
If I am understood to be saying "What color (here meaning specific reflective properties and light) is grass," then he is wrong.
Sometimes, we are asking for people's perception and sometimes we are talking about specific qualities not related to our personal perception of them.
Fun discussion and I could totally be wrong...but am not. ![]()
I kind of prefer squish and/or cut all the bad things, extract the good xD
As a Nurse I can make many patient references and talk about how to manage treatment of a situation. I also should be using my skills online too as I can deal with drunks and people with social issues with ease in real life. I guess I've allowed myself to react in ways here to hostility that I don't allow myself to do in real life because arguing with a drunk or someone having a psychotic breakdown is not healthy.
But in real life Nurses, Soldiers and Firefighter get more respect than some random person on the Internet.
...I used to blow up tanks for a living...then I became an officer...now I make sure the guvment accountants have whatever software they need up and running...what does that make me?

Someone you don't want to piss off online or off?

OFFICIAL ARMADA VASSAL LORD of WHATEVER YOU WANT TO BE

Drunks and Heroin Addicts not included in the giving more respect category.
All I'm getting from this thread is "Armada is played by great people who make the world a better place."
It's the Internet. I bet if we meet at a gathering wearing a badge that listed our occupations we would all sit and have a beer and a good discussion. But on here you have no idea who you're taking to.
I'm a scientist working on a device that will reduce the need for blood products by allowing doctors and nurses to give the proper amount of blood to a bleeding patient, which will indirectly save lives because there will be a large supply of blood products. We will also be (hopefully) making one for field deployment to go with surgeons and medics in war zones for the same purpose.

I want on that research team! Seriously that is awesome! Of course my skepticism doesn't allow me to believe everything I read on the Internet but god ****, if that's true that's just amazing. And that's coming from a Nurse who knows that would save tens of thousands of lives a year. Once approved by international organizations so it can be used in countries that truly lack blood banks.
But we still need Blood Donors here too, so please go donate. (Ok, done with my public announcement.)

As a Vampire, I approve.
I am sure there is no relation between my insistence people use evidence to support their claims and that I teach high school science.

Are you the cool teacher that freezes wrenches with liquid nitrogen or the uncool one that gives you the surprise quiz on spelling chemical names?

I've been known to create giant fireballs in class...
But also give (never surprise) tests on chemical names.
