I'll keep all of my work to one thread like most of the posters. I've been a scale model builder and wargame miniature painter for decades, but am pretty new to X-Wing.

Here is my first repaint, the KhAki-Wing. I fly Jake a lot and it always results in State Farm jokes, so I decided to use a bit of WWII North Africa camp inspiration and make him a khaki A-Wing to fly.

There we go! Now with photos!

Anyways, that's the KhAki-Wing for Jake (from State Farm) Ferrell.

Hmm, I can't seem to get my photobucket to host the photos.

Can see it ok on Photobucket - so just click on the "Direct" option address on that page, should then say "Copied", and insert a picture link from the forum post toolbar above [to the left of <>] and paste the address in - you may need to remove any trailing details and make sure the '.jpg' is the last thing in the link - pic should then display in the thread ok

I need to get some natural sunlight shots, but at least it can be seen now.

...I hate to admit it when I really should just roll with it (stay silent and look a fool rather than open my mouth and confirm), but I'm in just the mindset to ask.

--I'm in the southeast US, utterly awash in State Farm offices.. but I don't get the Jake ref.

Yeah, sorry, you'll have to Google the State Farm Jake ad. They way overplayed it where I live, so all of my league mates started making fun of me flying Jake all the time, so I rolled with it.

I started calling him Jake, from Planet State Farm after they re.did the commercial with the Coneheads

Ooiiyeeah. Oy-vey, I do remember that one... yeh, round about that time we ditched the TV and just rolled with interwebs and netflix... thank god. LoL

So I took the A-Wing to an IPMS model show (along with a couple of cars, a couple of planes, and my daughter with her models) and managed to place second in the Space & Sci-Fi category!

Guess I need to paint more of these now...
