Sure it could. I suggest a game 1 retreat to save refit and put all your points into a squadron screen for game 2.

But more important build your 500 point list so you know what to aim for.

Yeh ok i was hoping that the vsd's could take out a squadron carrier while the glad covers the rear from faster ships. Then retreat leaving the flotillas and squads alive. Or would it be better to drop a vsd and get a small tie fighter screen.

I would drop a VSD, probably Dominator.

Then get a Gozanti with Comms net, 4 Tie-Int and 1 Tie-A. Leaves you 6 points left over for a set of flight controllers, boosted comms or to make some squadrons the unique/character versions.

With 3-4 medium hull VSDs have you considered Konstantine and a set of Q7 tractors or two?
