Big Game Hunter's Prize

By YT9999, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I'm about to embark on a new campaign with a Big Game Hunter that's also a taxidermist. For larger creatures he kills, like a Fambaa or a Rhonto, should I follow docking rules, similar to ships in hangar bays (min 2 Silhouette smaller than vessel), or would 10x Silhouette work for transportation purposes, since they don't require any extra space/tools/storage for mechanics? Thoughts? They're going to be in a Sil 4 freighter (They're not sure which one yet, probably the YG-4210).

I guess it depends on the type of taxidermy and plans for the carcass. Usually game trophies are stripped down to the hide and skull with as little flesh as possible. The hide is often frozen until such time as the taxidermist can prepare & mount it. If the animal is edible, choice cuts may be saved, and the rest of the animal donated/recycled/abandoned. Even if he were mounting the entire animal (unlikely), the hide, horns/teeth/claws and germane skeletal parts won't take up that much room. He'll need a fair amount of workspace though, some sort of workshop with heavy-duty air recyclers and good drainage.

If you're looking to set up a taxidermist's workshop on your ship (which is what is sounds like you're trying to do), check out the Workshop rules in Special Modifications .

If you are just wanting to know how much Encumbrance a dead rancor (or what have you) takes up, maybe a quick and dirty formula might be 10 x Silhouette. Or 5 x Silhouette. Something like that.

If it's, like, living whales named George and Gracie, or something, you'll need to modify your hold some as well.
