Where is Orto? Need a Grid coordinate

By Mark Caliber, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Like it says in the subject line.

I spent hours going over the RPG maps looking for Orto, the homeworld of the Ortolans. We have an Ortolan PC and for plot reasons, we need to plan a trip there fairly soon.

Wookiepedia puts it somewhere in the Sluis Sector . . . which is also not represented on the SW RPG maps either.

Help? Anyone?

According to cross-referencing, M-19. Orto shares the Sluis sector with the Dagobah and Sluis systems.

Thank you. I'll take it.

“Star Wars: The Essential Atlas” is your friend. ;)

Wow Brad. You're not kidding!

Thanks!

I don’t have the URLs off the top of my head, but I’m sure someone here does. If not, then I think they’re probably also linked in the “Compiled Resources List” thread.

I found the pdf of the index by googling "Star Wars the essential atlas" The Star Wars.com website hosts the pdf of the updated index.

any good map in general? Im having a hard time finding a map where I can search sector or planet names and get coordinates. one with a sensible hyperdrive calculator would be lovely as well

With regards to mapping, the best site I know of is http://www.swgalaxymap.com/

However, that doesn’t have a HyperDrive calculator, and the only site I’ve seen that does have a HyperDrive calculator uses formulas that do not agree with the results from FFG. I’m not aware of anyone that has produced any site that calculates HyperDrive travel times that are consistent with what FFG does.

EDIT: I will say that the print version of “Star Wars: The Essential Atlas” has a lot of great mapping details of different regions, different time periods, and much more.

The Essential Atlas is great, but you've got to be careful. A lot of the information in it has been superseded by new canon since publication - the entire story about the construction of the Death Star and the Rebels acquiring the plans, for instance.
