I just received a shadow caster. Wanted toare sure I understand this correctly. Say the mobile arch is in the back.I have the choice to shoot out of either the primary or mobile arch?

Yes, the mobile arc can be used to fire your primary weapon, similarly to any of the auxiliary arcs in the game though it itself is not an auxiliary arc.
