CC Hyperspace Retreat? Can I move or shoot?

By The Rebel Fleet, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Sorry if this has been asked but I didn't see this answered anywhere, or I'm just not getting it,

P12 Hyperspace retreat states you declare a retreat and immediately discard your command dial, if that ship remains in the play area at the start of the status phase, remove that ship from the play area.

What it doesn't say is what happens when you discard your dial? can you still move or shoot? that turn?

What am I missing? I'm sure I'm staring right at the answer.........

You still shoot and move and can spend any command tokens on that ship, you just don't reveal a command dial because you don't have one anymore. Start of the status phase jump your ships out.

You activate...declare the retreat and discard your dial...then take the turn normally, shooting and moving etc, then hyper out at the end.

So basically you miss out on the command dial...and you can't change your mind (if the situation changes, for example).

OK!! Thanks guys! I know if you read enough Star wars EU it lead to a great conversation where ships seem to have to either fly straight or stop what their doing, to calculate those darn hyperspace coordinates, Its amazing that my friend and I both read this totally differently!

Thanks again!!

No question can you declare a hyperspace withdraw, if there a interdictor, but it woll be gone by the end of the turn?

So declare the jump and hope you can burn down the dictor, or do you have to have destoryed it 1st

No.

You cannot discard your Dial if there is an Interdictor, at the distance, at that point in time.....

So you cannot declare a Hyperspace Retreat without Discarding the Dial.

Sp you'd have to NOT ACTIVATE THAT SHIP, and hope you can KILL that Interdictor before its time for that Ship to Activate.

The primary reason for this seems to be so that you can't hyperspace in lieu of running off the board or ramming yourself to death.

I thought you declared hyperspace prior to command phase, not on activation. I could be wrong though.

From "Hyperspace Retreat", Page 12, CC Rulebook:

"During the fourth and fifth rounds, when a ship activates and reveals its command dial, it may immediately declare a retreat and discard that dial."

I stand corrected.
