I made a device some time ago with simple buttons that played a specific sound.
Is there a site with the sounds of battle -- lasers, X-wing, the Falcon etc.

There are. I looked before and I think if you just search Star Wars mp3 you will find a bunch. I don't have better directions than that, but I know there are a lot out there. I know I found a site that had at least 100 different sound effects.
OH....also....the device you made, is it easy to use? I always wanted to try to hijack some sort of children's audio book with the big buttons to try to make something for X-wing. Yes, there are apps, but sometimes it's just too hard to get out the phone at just the right moment. It would just be cooler to have something on the side to hit a button when needed.
Edited by heychadwickyou can always buy a copy of Empire at War, then just extract all the sounds from the game using a MEG extractor. They have some of the best sound quality for a older title. I actually was just looking through the sounds myself the other day as I wanted to see if i could find the tie fighter spinning out of control sound. Sadly I didnt find it, not sure if it is in it though now somwhere hidden
Not gonna lie, hate the new forum!
Regarding the device. I found a DIY Sound Effects Generator online and built it myself. Your other option is a Arduino. There are tons of plans and code available. You can do the same with Raspberry Pi. Last option, I keep old smart phones around and write a little code. The code is simple. Buttons with code behind point to a file number.

Thanks for that tip. I looked it up on steam and but it on my wish list hoping it goes on sale. Have to see if it will actually run on Windows 10 before I purchase it.

Thank you for responding. Much appreciated! I will look to pick it up this weekend.
If you just want something to "spice" your x-wing Game, there's an app called x-wing pew pew for Android, It offers the more common sounds for the Game...
