I Love Flotillas!

By geek19, in Star Wars: Armada

So I was playing a game the other day and one of my flotillas had like 15 damage coming at it from a Star destroyer, but whoops! No accuracy, so I scattered it all away! Combine that with the Home One MC80 that I hidden in a corner with Ackbar on it, and bam, I was able to win the contested outpost fight against Ben. He tried to ragequit when he realized his remaining fleet of 8 gozantis wasn't going to be enough to beat me, but somehow he used them to ram me and then next thing I know I'm dead.

Anyways, after playing that game, I have to say how impressed I've been with both flotillas and how FFG designed them. They seem great to me, and next week I'm going to find a way to beat Ben's flotilla fleet with one of my own! I knew taking only one was crazy and that I need at least 5 more!

How's everyone else feeling about them?

Wait, did he kill your Home One with Flotillas?

The ships don't matter that much when you don't have to follow the rules, you can win with pretty much anything under those circumstances. Flotillas don't do damage to ships when overlapping, they only take damage.

Ramming with flotillas?

Classic Ben...

FatherTurin gets it.

Classic Ben.

Ben's mistake (besides not knowing the flotilla rules) was shooting the flotilla with his ISD. With enough Gozantis, he should have used them (perhaps with CF) to shoot up your flotilla. He would have nibbled you to death.

Unless you had another ship to benefit from your Home One his flotillas would be safe.

floatillas are a huge addition to the game

both in theme, gameplay elements, and hilarity
