Just to clarify, non-action bombs such as ion are dropped on the first reveal before the slam action right? It would be nice bit you could use your slam action as a dial to drop bombs. But I don't think that is the wording.
Bombs with Advanced Slam
You totes can, it's perfectly cool. Maneuver dial is maneuver dial
Okay, it was hard to tell since this was the same group that couldn't tell the difference between a T-roll from a K-turn. Literally someone tried to do Ello Asty ability afterwards a 3K which was actually a 3TR. Well casuals, what do you expect?

this is completely wrong. You don't reveal a dial when SLAMming so there's no trigger for dial-bomb drop. You totes can, it's perfectly cool. Maneuver dial is maneuver dial
Manoeuvre dials are revealed at the beginning of the active ship's Activation phase - Step 1: Reveal Dial . When you perform a SLAM action, you choose a manoeuvre on the ship's dial, but it's not a "reveal".
Ion Bombs, Proton Bombs and Thermal Detonators are all dropped in Step 1. The bombs that use an action to drop them, can only be dropped during the Perform Action step or when granted a free action, such as that from Advanced SLAM, and then only if the ship isn't stressed at the time.

I'm starting to think they need a time chart for the activation phase as well as the combat phase. While we are at it have a timing chart for planning and end phase as well.
FAQ, pg 20:
'Q: Does the SLam action count as revealing your dial for the sake of card abilities (such as dropping a bomb)?
A: no, it does not count as revealing your dial.'

They really do.

I don't think so. Maybe just a few clarification points within the rules. Like " A manoeuvre dial is only revealed during Step 1: Reveal Dial. Any other instruction to choose and execute a manoeuvre does not count as a dial reveal. "
And highlighting key words to look for on pilot and upgrade cards, like: " may ", " action ", " assign ", etc. Once players know what the key words are and how they define things, it becomes easier to understand.
I really don't think every single phase needs to be explained in intricate detail. The Combat phase has so many timing triggers and other things happening, that it needed to be explained, but there's nowhere near that many things to keep track of in the other phases.
Edited by ParravonWhile on the subject of Slam and bombs, could Cracken give a free action to a K-Wing that Slammed (not advanced) to drop a mine like a prox or Conner Net?

Yes.
Actionless bombs are tied to your maneuver dial specifically, not a maneuver. It specifically states on the reveal of a maneuver you drop it. Thats why if you got Ioned you cant drop a bomb either, as you didnt reveal a dial (or do any "before/after reveal" abilities)
