Miranda and the Green Snaps

Hmmm...I like this. What about Airen with VI instead of Zeb? Anything to that, you think?

Possible, but he's going to struggle to keep up and stay in range 1 of the others. Also, he doesn't have evade action, so he can't be used to fuel swarm leader. He can fire first with his homing missle, but he's not going to take anything off the board unless he' super lucky.

In my mind, Zeb with a turret is a perfect fit.

I've tweaked the list to PtL/Snap Shot Greenies as below. My buddy ran PtL Soontir and two /x7 defenders (plain Onyx and Predator Glaive, I think). We didn't have time for a full game, but I did walk away with the win, pretty decisively. When we had to quit (about an hour), the Onyx was dead, Glaive was down to 2 hull, untouched Soontir, Miranda lost all shields and one shield off one A-Wing. I'd dropped both Ion Bombs to good effect and had all Conner Nets. I have a couple takeaways:

  • Focus/evade A-Wings are shockingly resilient and can clear the PtL stress almost at will. I didn't even activate Autothrusters once and my buddy rolled fairly well on offense.
  • How do people usually approach firing Homing Missiles? I've found only having TL and no Focus for that initial encounter pretty lackluster, particularly when spending a shield and throwing 5 reds.
  • Having only played against defenders a couple times, I quickly learned just how tanky they are. I pounced any time I could find them lacking tokens.

I'm reviving this in hopes of finding something I come up with on my own before resigning myself to just making a meta list so I stop getting my ass kicked. It's not much different, just replacing PtL with Juke (which I have now) on the A's. I want to keep it at 98 in the hopes of getting Initiative, which can be big in getting Snap Shots on Defenders before they get their evade token.

So...can this hold up verses good lists? It seems like bombs is the Rebel formula against Defenders and Paratanni, but I really don't know. I'm wide open to suggestions on how to make these ships work. Please be brutally honest.

Let's face it...those A-wings are more of a deterrent than they are damage dealers. Maybe having one of them is just as valuable as having two? Maybe a loaded Ahsoka is even more of a deterrent with more options available?

Loaded Ahsoka looks like a pretty good move, unless you're up against PS9+ ships no one can shoot her which means that Sabine stays on the board for longer and it's her TIE anyway. Something that has been recommended to me is scavenger crane as can then reuse the bombs once an enemy blows up - may be worth a though.

I do like the idea of being able to do actions in the combat phase to be able to drop some surprise bombs. I've been trying to figure out a similar list and get Jake in there instead of the GSP which would mean a more streamlined Ahsoka I think.

I think the combat phase bomb drop is more valuable with a Warden than Miranda. With Miranda, you know where most ships will be (assuming maybe 1 PS8+ opposing ship), so you'll already know if you're dropping bombs.

I do really like the double threat of EMP/Bomb Ahsoka. Lower PS can't just roll up into her area, because she may drop a maneuver bomb. They also want to consider where she might end up, because she can EMP them. The challenge is that her ability is sort of in direct opposition to the EMP. If you EMP your bomber, then it can't drop a maneuver bomb the next turn, which is precisely what you want to do against an EMP'ed ship.

I really, REALLY think there's something there with this list, it'll just be challenging to figure out. My currently litmus test is just against something like 3 Defenders. You can't let Miranda be focused, but she's the obvious target. How do I get the A-wing in a position to Snap Shot while also getting Miranda in a position to not get chewed up? If I leave the A-wing on an island, it'll get chewed up in a turn. If I bring Miranda in for a Homing Missile shot, she could end up with all shields lost and a crit or two on her.

i dont always bring a GSP A wing, but when i do it brings the HEAT!
