Trouble finding Wave 5 anywhere

By Crichelle, in Star Wars: Armada

I can get everything from Miniature Market or the Warstore other than the freaking Arq's. Which I unfortunately want most of all, to be able to swap into the points bracket my Glad usually fills, as my regular opponent and I like to play quick 200pt games, which is usually either two corvettes, a tooled out 50 pointer and a flotilla, or a cheaper 50 ponter and a corvette.

My Rebs have plenty of options with an MC30, Neb-B, 3 Corvettes, and a Flotilla, but I only have a Glad, 2 Raiders, and a Flotilla for my Imps, so I want an Arquitens before a Pelta.

I guess I could order directly from FFG as they are in stock, but then shipping is a freaking 50% of the Arquitten's price!

Does anyone have any leads on places to find wave 5 either in Southest Texas or online? I have been hounding my two FLGS for almost a month now, but both of them have no idea the wave 5 shipments will finally come through. Distributors apparently have no idea either. At the same time I have noticed that online sales have dried up as well. Anyone else having a heck a of time finding the new releases?

(side note: both FLGS get fully restocked with X wing and Imperial Assault twice weekly).

I have been trying to hold out to support my brick and mortars, but at this point, I will buy from the first place that can get me my new ships.

First off...Southeast Texas you say? I am in Bryan/College Station. You in Houston? Golden Triangle?

Second...that stinks. You may have to go online to purchase.

Ever make your way to Austin? Our next tournament is February 4, last practice tournament before the February 11 regional. Always happy to have new players down.

As far as buying it directly from the store here, I paid retail for the light cruiser and imperial fighters 2 which is slightly irksome, paid 10 bucks for shipping and got the items in 2 days. So basically, if you can't find it anywhere else and don't mind paying for shipping it isn't too bad. At least they are fast.

If The Warstore/Miniature Market doesn't get a restock soon, I may bow to the pressure and do just that, as much as it irks me to break my peraonal rule of never paying more than 50% for Armada ships online.

Had to get my two kittens shipped from freaking England.

And i got mine from Germany as a result....

Meanwhile... La Roca store, Valencia, Spain...

But shhh... Don't tell anyone. This game is dead

I've never seen anything remotely like that at a store near me. :)

Clearly it's dead...no one has bought a single thing from that store except two Rebel Fighter II packs...

I mean if you don't mind paying some garbage shipping rates you could always just order from FFG directly. I ended up doing that to get my hands on CC

OMG I love "El Conflicto Corelliano." As a Spanish speaker it warms my heart to read/hear Star Wars in Spanish.

Wait, would that be "Guerra de las Estrellas?" or do they just stick with "Star Wars?"

Check out the different colors on the Pelta.

I need like 5 more Arquitens but can't find them around here....

Arquitens are entirely sold out at distributors, so you might get lucky finding them here and there but otherwise it will be about 8-12 months until a second printing hits distributors again. I think FFG underestimated interest. A lot of players want multiples of the ships. Both DTT and Blast Doors are solid upgrades, Minister Tua makes Vics great again, and the ship itself is good. A lot of South American and Asian Regionals have been won by 5x Arq, and a lot of players are trying to get enough of the ship to replicate that list for their own Regional tourneys.

These things conspire to make the Arq hard to find, but we've had local guys selling their own unopened extra packs for $30, and in one case $40, to other players.

The light cruiser disappeared fast at anything under or close to MSRP. I can't believe we have to wait 8-12 more months for more, but I guess those are the breaks.

I wanted to buy 2-3 more just for the stands, but it might be easier to find cheap Victorys at this point. :)

You;d make half your money back on RRP by selling Ion Cannon Batteries, Expanded Hangers, Motti and, particularily, Flight Controllers....

Careful. English speakers have historically had a stormy relationship with Spanish Armada. ;)

Does anyone have experience buying directly from FFG? I'm wondering if there processing and shipping is good? I prefer buying from LGS but everyone in 50 mile radius is out of wave 5 and not giving me any indicator if they'll get more. As the OP said, most places online are also out of much of it.

Back when FFG offloaded AT-43 I bought a ton of stuff from them. That was years ago, but there were no issues. Everything was in tact and sipped relatively quickly, within a day or so IIRC.

Haha, indeed.

That was January 20th, wave 5 release date in Spain. But there is a group of +20 people playing Armada in that store...

:) Back in the 70s and 80s it was "La Guerra de las Galaxias", but nowadays the children grow up calling it "Star Wars".

Speaking about that, I don't know if everybody in the States knows that Armada means "Naval Forces" in Spanish.

Did anyone find where to get the ships at a reasonable price? Amazon 3rd party sellers are jacking up the price to ridiculous levels and now they are even out of stock in FFG's store. I'm going to cancel my "pre-order" with my FLGS since they failed me pretty hard but I'd still like to get the ships.

Wow@Ell I had that exact poster in my room as a kid (in English). I should look for that. I'd pay good money for it...

I just got my Arquitens yesterday from the FFG store. Took about 2 days to get here.

Looks like all the inventory went to Spain haha. My FLGS NEVER received anything. Plenty of XW and old IA but Destiny guys are frustrated, IA folks haven't received latest stuff either. There's a store about an hour away and a friend has got me two arqs and an Imp2 pack and that's it. They do have a Pelta he says. I'm tremendously frustrated with FFG/Asmodee distribution! I feel they've let down their customer base in a BIG way.

update: Miniature market just updated their inventory. They have 20+ of all wave 5 in stock.
