Docking Bay 94

By Rikalonius, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Would like some suggestions from the regular skirmish players on Command Cards and deployment cards for my Docking Bay 94 crew. Now, if you've watched the special addition of E. IV you'll remember seeing all those Rodians and Boba Fett. The list however doesn't have to include Fett. It is more like a Rodian squad anyway. So it starts like this:

Jabba 6

Vinto 5

Greedo 4

E Hired Gun 6

That leaves 19 points available. I'd like to avoid Trandoshan hunters, or Wampa, or Rancor. Obviously Gideon and c3P0 seem to be part of Mercenary lists, but I'd like to avoid them if I can. Obviously no heroic characters like Han, Luke, Leia, etc.

I'll work on this too, but I'm interested in other ideas.

This is why I hate that they announce stuff 5 months earlier than they plan to release it. Jawas would obviously fit your theme.

With what we have at this point, thematically, I'd include some elite weequay, a set of regular hired guns (the elite ones are rarely played, but actually have some cool abilities as in the autoevade and extra damage surge) They still have horrible health and accuracy.

I'd include the Black Market

Command card suggestions

2 Tools for the Job

1 Smuggled Supplies -great for all rodians

0 Stimulants - good for a suicidal druggie hired gun

2 Run for Cover

1 Pickpocket

0 Toxic Dart

3 Assassinate

1 Primary Target

2 Heightened Reflexes

1 Price on their heads

1 Glory of the Kill

0 Element of Surprise

1 Negation

0 Take Initiative

0 Shoot the Messenger

You make a good point. Weequay fit thematically for sure. And I might go back to regular hired guns.

If I take Temporary Alliance and then take Gideon and Diplomatic mission and give it to Jabba?

Don't think skirmish upgrades are allowed from other factions just deployment cards.

Can't use Temporary Alliance for Skirmish Upgrades. It's in the FAQ.

Noted, I will rethink that then.

+Boba Fett with Prey on the Weak, Temp Alliance, Gideon, and either Devious Scheme or Last Resort?

Or instead of Gideon, C-3PO since he was there?

But for full Thematic, then Boba Fett w/ Prey on the Weak and then (gulp, shudder) regular Weequay Pirates?

The regular weequays are actually pretty good for their points, IMO. A better version of hired guns (for one extra point).

Yeah, considered them last night when I browsed the new stuff after finally getting it. You get very cheap access to the Hunter keyword with them, to use with Price On Their Head, Cripple, Merciless AND Smuggler keyword with Disable, Smuggler's Tricks, Black Market Prices, Pick Pocket and Stimulants. If you think of them as Hired Guns, then they suddenly look good :)

Though with the new rules, they give up 6 points if cleared. But also have a good amount more firepower available.

this part burns me

you can take both regular and elite hired guns, they have different purposes to a certain degree. The elite actually hit a lot harder and a little more reliably if in close to mid range and they can actually take a shot unlike the regular.

I started by hating the eWeequay, I was muffed that they released a figure so similar, but so much poorer in performance to the HK. I tried to like them, I agree, they may be serviceable and decent shots, but they are still outshined and outperformed over and over again by the HK. With the new rules, they are worth the same, so unless you're doing a thematic list or you really in no way shape or form can fit 8pts over 7pts, Hk all the way.

weequay fit this list more thematically which is what you're going for here.

now if they knew they were going to change the rules, they should have priced the Jabba figures appropriately (ie. weequay 2 regular/ 3for elite)

I actually played with it last night. Not a proper test, but with with one unit of regular HK and 2 units of Hired guns against a Bantha list. When I play around testing stuff I don't use command cards, I know those make a huge difference in the game, but I like to see how units stack up without them.
