It is kind of sad that Armada seems to be stuck in the two faction only structure. I truly wish that Armada would end up with an opportunity to have additional faction (be it the Resistance & 1stOrder or Republic and CIS). But as for now it seems like we are going to have to deal with just two factions. So plenty of Blue on Blue battles.
God Help Me, I Kind of Want the Vong
I stopped readin EU around the Jedi Academy series because I thought Kevin J Anderson was a poor writer, and then I never came back to it. So, I have a vague idea who the Vong were, but why so hated?
I'm just being lazy here and don't want to read shite books just to find out.
They were a bunch of self-insert fanboy "what could beat the Star Wars universe" enemies that didn't have a real narrative reason for existing except as a Big Bad Evil That Raises The Stakes. The EU had several of those already, but none f them had deserved an entire series of books beyond a self-contained trilogy (many hadn't even rated a full single book), and until the Vong none of them had received one.

That would be called Spectacle creep.
Star Trek had the same problem, you had the Klingons, then the Romulans, the Borg, then Dominion, then the Kazon? Nah put the Borg back in! Okay no more Borg, now what? I don't know, revamp the timeline and put in futuristic tattooed Romulans. Great now a sequel to Wrath of Kahn. How about a Federation Conspiracy with the USS Giant Evil Ship?
The Vong have got nothing on a ship full of flesh eating zombies.

Exactly my progression, except read wikis to keep up
Hate the Vong.

Ed: You see a well-groomed garden. In the middle, on a small hill, you see a gazebo.
Eric: A gazebo? What color...
Eric: (Reaching for his dice) Maybe I'll roll up a fire-using mage so I can avenge my paladin...
