Nationals.

128 players max? Seems low.

If it sells out quickly, get on the wait list. That is the only way that we know more people want to play. If enough people are on the wait list, we will consider expanding.

Is there any information regarding Regional tournaments? Specifically the "Northeast" region? (Or whichever region contains Connecticut?)

With the Nationals at NOVA, are the North American Championships still at GEN CON?

That is correct. They're like a week apart.

you in control?

North American Championship is at GenCon.

US National Championship is at the NOVA Open.

Short answer, it's a clunkier version of the same format from Magic. Not sure I dig the heroes vs. villains mandate.

Also, I think 3x red/yellow heroes breaks the format. Everyone playing Don't Get Cocky with three times the odds of drawing into a Launch Bay and resource sharing? Yeah, fun times.

Do we know how many rounds of swiss before the cut and how many people make the cut before single elimination?

According to the NOVA event website it will be 7 rounds at 35 min each. Top Cut will be 16 players.

It's a 3v3 game where the central player on each team is the Emperor. You have to defeat someone to their left or right before you can attack them. First one to kill the opposing emperor wins.

It may sound a little clunky right now, but to be honest it is much more fun than I originally expected. We're still testing the format and I'm sure we'll be making some changes in the coming weeks. However, it is much more fun than I originally expected. Its really intended to be a fun event for players who want to do something a little different than standard competitive play.

Does anyone know if they are awarding bye cards for destiny Nationals?

I'm slightly confused by the OP announcement they made regarding all of their Star Wars products since the link mentions nothing about destiny specifically:
https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2016/3/15/the-next-step-in-organized-play/

Also, since its open to everyone it might be poor to wait until you get a bye card if such a thing is being awarded.

I'm guessing, but I don't think so for this year. Destiny came out too late for Regional season and that is typically where byes would be awarded for Nationals.

Trying to convince the wife to let me sneak away from the family for NoVA... If I can, I'll be attending Destiny and X-Wing, I'm glad they only overlap during one of the X-Wing heats.

I might ask if they need help with a judging thing or something. I should hit them up.... Not gonna play in the tourney but would help run it.

Regarding the emperor tournament, is it $45 for a team of 3 or $45 per person?

Once that is purchased, at what point during the event do we need to "sign-in?" For example, if I am going with a group of people and we all plan to play in the Thursday tournament and some of us place in the top 16, this will obviously conflict with the emperor tournament. So when do we need to register our names and checklist for the emperor tournament, assuming of course that is required?

$45 for each team of three. You do not need to announce your team until you check-in to the event. Check-in starts one hour before the event begins.

Confirmed on the family end and grabbed registration for Destiny nationals. Now I just need to make sure I can get work on board...

You know, small details and all.
