No Narrative event at NOVA open?

By Babaganoosh, in X-Wing

There's been x-wing narrative events for at least the two last NOVA Opens if memory serves, but I don't see one listed for the 2017 NOVA open. There's epic furball, hunger games, duo, and pirate events on their primer page, but no narrative event.

I'm guessing it got nixed for this year - does anyone have any information about what happened? As a proponent (and soon-to-be event runner) of narrative events, this is kind of a bummer to me.

I guess people will have to go to the Shuttle Tydirium's GenCon Narrative event to get their fix. Or....wait for the world wide campaign that comes after that.

Here's what I read about the pirate tournament, from the primers page of NOVA:

The list building options in this tournament format open up many combinations. Cross faction lists are allowed. Take a look at the primer for the details.

Looks like they classified it as 'narrative' on the purchasing page, but it sounds more like a tournament where you throw out the rules of listbuilding. (Which actually seems less thematic (and in my estimation less narrative) than a standard match.

The Pirate Tournament is not a Narrative event. I will make sure that the website reflects that.

For the last 2 years, the Star Wars Narrative Campaign has been a lot of fun. I'm glad that you all enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you. Unfortunately, the narrative is taking a break this year. In 2018, the story will pick up where it left off and all will be good.

Good to hear that! Hopefully I will be able to attend.
