I haven't paid enough attention- does that mean there will be no byes for the 2017 World Championship in May? Also, have they released the dates yet for when in May the World champs will be held?

They have not announced it.

But they've Stated that the Store Championship Kits, Which are slated to be used from the 13th of May Onwards, will contain 2 Copies of the World Championship Card, to be given away, possibly during a Streaming event of the world Championships the weekend before....

Essentially - Words is the weekend of the 6th of May.

I asked this. And yes, it does appear Worlds will be around the 6th based off everything I could find and what Dras helped with. It makes sense for the timeline they have set up with new kits coming out.

I'm starting to think they don't like people who work in higher education. Worlds around the time of finals for most schools. Nationals the first week of classes for most schools. The latter is probably an issue for most K-12, too.

Yep. Couldn't go to Worlds last year because of teaching (K-8). Probably won't be able to go to Nationals because I guarantee we'll already have started by that weekend.
