Proposal to change the rules for flotillas

By TheRealStarkiller, in Star Wars: Armada

I love all the people watching Sygnetix losing control and not commenting.

But serious now, I'm fine with letting all this stuff pass. I'm satisfied with how all this turned out, and won't hold anything against you Sygnetix. Hopefully you can do the same

The most moronic thing about today is not only did I give admiral lifeboat flotillas impactful meaning, I've said over and over and over that the only reason I participate in these discussions is because I struggle with admirals being in an unarmed craft at range from a fleet.

I never once said I don't use it on occasion.

Why people will always find a need to force feed their opinion to people on the internet is mind boggling. Don't get me wrong, joining the discussion is not the same. Informing everyone peacefully discussing the topic at hand that they are bad and can't handle flotillas and that's why they want to change the rules is a groundless, fact-less, baseless opinion.

If anything, it illustrates an insecurity in the person issuing such an opinion because it displays a need to degrade others while attempting to elevate your own self interests.

It's textbook insecurity.

I'm guilty of refusing to bend over and capitulate to people making sweeping assumptions about me and talking to me like I'm an idiot for not agreeing with them....even if I do and don't give 2 rational rat's behinds about flotilla's being changed...I just like the

DISCUSSION.

Okay, but why do you think we should ban flotillas, Sygnetix,

I love all the people watching Sygnetix losing control and not commenting.

... I had an entire side-conversation I wanted to continue, but nooooo, people had to get confrontational , and stick to the actual topic. :P

So what you're saying is.... I should bend to your elitism and allow you to dictate the entire conversation? :P

Hey, I was just trying to fly my conversation out away from the main topic. It's totally justifiable.

Why are you insecure? What happened? We are here for you buddy

Come on man, open up, this is about you. Take all the time you need, were listening.

I think the dog chased that car too long and can't comprehend what he will do if he actually catches it.

Yes, that's right. Ignore everything said in rebuttal to further fan the cult-like obsession.

Probably the same crowd that QQ's about bullying lol.

Sure, why not? We covered insecurity, might as well have needy for attention, too. Carry on. Let's see some more truly original content.

I propose we keep rules as is.

Also because ffg won't do any change herein proposed.

So what's the point?

The point is why are people so unhappy others are having a discussion? What's wrong with floating ideas for rules that can be adopted as mutually agreeable rules or CC house rules, or just having a "what if" conversation without every loud mouthed ****** on the forums "chiming in" and shutting down a discussion that had nothing to do with them in the first place?

What happened to seeing a forum post's title and saying "nope, not for me, let's see what else is being talked about" and moving the hell on?

I truly love how every time this comes up, a certain collection of individuals in this community like to forcibly choke everyone with their self righteousness and tell them "at best it'll be a house rule" but they're so focused on giving others their opinion, they don't realize they're stopping friendly conversation between others just because they don't agree with the topic of conversation they weren't even having.

I mean, I know everywhere isn't America but come on....can't we all agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion and if you don't like the TOPIC OF CONVERSATION, you're not required to chime in with your opinion?

But I like the rules as they are, so I tend to say so. I don't feel they need to change, don't want them to.

Personally I hate flotillas. The little buggerz suck. Try to pop them as often as I can. I certainly don't put my admiral on one.

That said, I'm perfectly ok with other play styles.

And oh, why do you expect people to agree with you, or even discuss the merits of changing certain aspects of the rules (for worse)?

You have to accept this won't be a super popular thing to do. Especially like two days after the last round.

For your viewing pleasure I bring you Ben.

1) I don't mind the rules, either. Seriously starting to question peoples reading comprehension. That said, I'm also capable of discussing "what ifs" and "why nots" without hammering out an insulting paragraph about how bad people who think flotillas should be evaluated are.

2) I agree. I don't like the tactic but it's here so it's either adapt to it, embrace it, or quit playing. However, not all games are tournaments and people who want to openly discuss changes for house rules should be able to without know-it-all douchenuggets charging in with their opinions to disrupt the conversation every single time they see it . No one is debating there isn't two sides to the debate. I'm just saying if you can't get your opinion out without being insulting, demeaning, and generally an ass, just skip it and go to a different thread. I have no appreciation for an opinion from someone who cannot communicate it without talking down to an audience that didn't ask him for his input.

3) Never said I did expect people to agree with me. The vast majority of posts from me have been in response to others....the same others that can't figure out #2.

4) Popularity of a conversation in an open, public forum is irrelevant. The popularity of a subject should be decided by the people having the conversation, not the people trying to shout them down.

This is exactly what I asked for at the start of this thread. And I didn't even need to add any insults.

You literally did this the entire time on this thread.

Or, I (literally) did not. I respond in kind the way in which I am treated. You need to stop fanboi'n for a minute and go do some rereading. Of course, you're also one of the problem children in regards to this "I'm going to grace you with my opinion in the least graceful way possible" group of people chasing around these forums back slapping each other on their 1 liners and rather menial quips.

Summary:

1) I don't care about flotillas being changed

2) I offered an idea on how they might be changed

3) I reacted to people coming in and ******'n up the conversation.
